Bungie is seeking a Deployment Operations Manager to join our fast-paced industry-leading Live Operations team. Do you enjoy solving complex issues? As a Deployment Operations Manager at Bungie, you will coordinate, schedule, and oversee release and deployment activities for our production environments. You’ll work with a team of highly experienced service engineers and release managers to continuously improve and evolve our technology infrastructure to ensure Bungie remains at the pinnacle as an entertainment company.

Successful candidates must be a seasoned and experienced professional, have a drive for excellence, solid work ethic, strong ability to mentor others, be able to resolve a wide range of issues in creative ways, possess solid project management skills, be highly organized, and a great communicator.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate, schedule, and oversee long-term, mid-term, and near-term deployment activities.

  • Identify potential scheduling and coordination issues, proactively resolving them to avoid delays.

  • Collaborate with developers, testers, site staff, installation teams, and other stakeholders to ensure deployment schedules and expectations are met.

  • Monitor deployment progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders.

  • Investigate root causes and work with cross-functional areas to provide analysis and recommendations for improvement in business operations.

  • Ensure adherence to timelines, quality standards, and project objectives.

  • Assist in the development of deployment strategies and processes to optimize efficiency.

  • Work with team members to troubleshoot complex issues and work with lower-tier support on escalations

  • Assist with ongoing cross-training for Live Operations team members

  • Develop tools and scripts to assist with routine maintenance tasks, primarily with Ansible

  • Support for all related products and triage any issues that come up

  • Maintain documentation of systems and processes

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities

  • Experience in identifying and resolving scheduling and coordination issues

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams

  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving

  • Experience working with customers of different technical and non-technical backgrounds to help them navigate technology and achieve their goals

  • Managing medium-complexity projects with multiple team members and stakeholders

  • Knowledge of datacenter and live production best practices and experience working in live high availability customer-facing production environments

NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS

  • Automation administration at scale, experience with package and source management, security best practices, performance tuning, and troubleshooting

  • Familiar with SDLC, CI/CD, Git workflows

  • Familiarity with various network hardware (Cisco, Juniper, A10, Arista, Palo Alto, etc.)

  • Information security experience

  • Container / Kubernetes experience

Listed below is this role's base pay range. In other locations that Bungie has approved for remote work, this pay range may be adjusted up to +/- 10% and some roles may be classified as non-exempt (hourly).

This range is determined by an array of factors, including training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands. Additionally, it is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

Bellevue Pay Range

$120,000 - $140,000 USD

Most Bungie full-time employees will adopt a digital first approach allowing remote work in Bungie approved locations (outside of positions identified as 100% onsite in Bellevue/Seattle, or individuals preferring a hybrid/flex environment). Prospective full-time employees who are located outside of a Bungie approved state will need to establish residency in an approved state within 45 days of their start date.
