We build a lot of games in-house, and we are looking for an awesome designer to take the lead in establishing a strong visual identity across the entire portfolio.
We've raised over $8 million from top investors and game developers like Supercell, Tencent, London Venture Partners, Founders Fund, Betaworks, Northzone and more.
About the Role
- You'll report to our Director of Game Development.
- You'll establish the visual identity and ensure consistent art direction for a variety of new games.
- You'll help improve our existing games, designing new features while looking for opportunities to refine and polish.
- You'll work across the entire art pipeline, from concepting to asset creation.
- You'll work on game assets as well as UI and branding, helping to ensure consistency across the entire player experience.
- You'll partner with our engineers and game designers to help decide what goes into our games from a high level.
- You'll help source and manage external art contractors, setting the direction for them and ensuring quality.
- You'll be working at an early-stage startup with a small, passionate team — and a chance to make your mark!
Requirements:
- 5 years of experience designing for games or other interactive products
- Some examples of games/products that you've had a significant hand in
- Portfolio showcasing proficiency and versatility in visual design
- Solid empathy & interpersonal skills for building a shared vision around your work
Bonus points if you:
- Have experience with both game art and product design.
- Have some technical artist chops in Unity (or something similar) — you know how to import assets, configure animations, and make nice dynamic particle effects.
- Love to play games (board games, video games, social games etc).
- You have experience with agile software development practices, and have participated in product roadmaps and development sprints before.

Location:
In normal times, we have an office in downtown Toronto. In these slightly less-than-normal times, we're an entirely remote company. We can help you to outfit your home office with all the gear and tools you need. We expect to return to the office when it's safe, so the ability to commute to downtown Toronto is something we require.
