The HR Administrator position, reporting to the HR Manager, is a key support role for both the HR & Recruiting effort at Build A Rocket Boy Games. In addition to supporting the HR team, the HR Administrator will serve as a coordinator resource for the Talent Acquisition Manager and be responsible for maintenance of the recruitment pipeline for the company.
Responsibilities:
- Organize and maintain personnel records.
- Update internal databases & tracking tools (e.g. record sick or maternity leave).
- Assist in the recruitment process and liaise with hiring managers and recruitment agencies.
- Prepare HR documents, like employment contractsand new hire
- Revise company policies and communicate them to the studio through appropriate means.
- Create regular reports and presentations on HR metrics for company management.
- Answer employees queries about HR-related issues.
- Assist Finance by providing relevant employee information (e.g. leaves of absence, sick days and work schedules).
- Liaise with external partners, like insurance vendors or immigration advisors, and ensure legal compliance.
- Participate and/or lead HR projects (e.g. help organize a job fair event).
- Support the Business Affairs team, Studio Head and Directors of the company with various administrative tasks as needed.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of proven work experience in a similar role.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills in English (both written and spoken).
- Excellent organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize important projects.
- Thorough knowledge of UK labour laws.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (especially Word & Excel).
- Familiarity with HR software like HRIS or HRMS a plus.
- Proactive approach and strong sense of personal motivation.
- Desire to work in a fast-paced, high growth, start-up company environment.
- Ability to work full-time based in Edinburgh, Scotland.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or relevant field a plus.
