Overwatch Caster

The British Esports Association is looking for volunteer play-by-play and colour casters in Overwatch who can work within a team to cast matches played by schools and colleges in our British Esports Championships.

Please note, applications are now closed for casting roles in League of Legends and Rocket League.

If you’re someone who’s passionate about supporting grassroots esports and is looking to gain some experience, please look at the description below and if interested, apply with a CV and cover letter.

Please note: We can only appoint volunteers who are not currently playing for a team in the British Esports Championships


  • Cast Overwatch matches live on stream for the British Esports Association
  • Analyse and discuss gameplay
  • Research each team and follow the progress of the British Esports Championships
  • Conduct post-match interviews
  • Follow instructions from the producer and communicating with guests on the stream


  • In-depth understanding and knowledge of the game you apply for (Overwatch)
  • Be available to cast a variety of matches throughout the academic term (October-December 2020, and Jan-April 2021). Matches start by default at 4pm each Wednesday, however we would need casters ready earlier for set up and the stream may run for 2-3 hours
  • Must be easily contactable on match days (Wednesdays) by British Esports staff, and follow instructions from the producer
  • Have a decent PC/laptop and recording set up to enable streams to run smoothly, as well as a decent quality camera/microphone/headset/audio peripherals
  • Work well in a team and with our producer(s) – be able to communicate effectively and professionally on-stream and off-stream

Additional Information

This is a voluntary role and as such there may be other ways for you to get involved with British Esports in the future.

This role is one of several volunteer positions British Esports is looking to fill around its 2020/21 British Esports Championships for schools and colleges.

The British Esports is a not-for-profit national body established in 2016 to promote esports in the UK, improve standards and inspire future talent.

Our aims are to support esports and provide expertise and advice. We are focused on the grassroots level of esports and are not a governing body.

We run the national British Esports Championships for schools and colleges across League of Legends, Overwatch and Rocket League.
