The Lead Data Analyst will manage the game analytics team to effectively facilitate exploratory analysis, scalable reporting, and real-time machine learning driven processes. Additionally, they will aid in the interpretation of research results and make strategic recommendations on game development direction and positioning.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional projects using advanced data analysis techniques to discover insights that will guide strategic decisions and reveal optimization opportunities
- Supervise, train, mentor, motivate and inspire analysts
- Build, develop, and maintain data reporting systems, data automation systems, dashboards and performance metrics that support business decisions
- Oversee the data requests process, tracking requests submitted, prioritization, and approval
- Communicate with stakeholders across the organization providing insights and actionable results in support of decisions
- Actively manage data sprint through sprint planning, project allocation and prioritization, guidelines setting, and sprint review
- Partner with the Director of Product to develop KPIs, metrics, and reporting which lead to actionable product and marketing insights relating to consumer behavior, game engagement, and in-game interactions
- Organize and drive successful data projects through effective management of data analysts and effective collaboration with stakeholders
- Establish, apply, and drive best practices for assigned projects
- Partner with team to update, and manage shared library of assets and process documents
- Leverage live ops tools, analytics, A/B testing, and other tools to optimize player experience and drive business objectives
- Monitor game and guide team to achieving results through the definition of associated KPIs
- Partner with production and design teams to conceptualize and implement engaging features, mechanics, systems, and modalities of play that accomplish goals
- Partner with Lead PMs to establish experimentation road map, using A/B testing to meet goals and create product and player insight. Translate outcomes into relevant recommendations
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of our games and the market

Skills and Abilities
- Ability to perform research analytics at industry, genre, and game level to inform product
- Strong business & creative acumen in games environment
- Able to connect detailed player behavior and financial outcomes
- Capable of managing multiple competing tasks and be self-directed to meet deadlines in a quickly evolving environment
- Excellent attention to detail and strong desire to iterate and improve on processes
- Strong analytical skills with experience using data to inform decisions
- Ability to manage, recruit and scale highly productive analytics teams
- Highly organized with the ability to quickly identify and prioritize opportunities for optimal ROI
- Collaborative team centric focus with an excellent ability to deliver and receive constructive feedback
Education and Experience
- 5 years' experience in a related role
- Thorough understanding of big data principles, techniques, and best practices
- Live free-to-play game experience on at least 1 top mobile title
- Strong experience in quantitative analysis, including the ability to model game parameters using Excel, SQL, and business intelligence tools such as Tableau
- Understanding and experience with a wide range of business models and monetization mechanics, including, but not limited to, free-to-play and subscriptions business models
