Our studio is renowned for critically acclaimed titles that exceeded what the world expected of us, from the remaster of Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, to the remake of Shadow of the Colossus, and most recently the PS5 launch title Demon's Souls.
We are looking for a Combat Designer to join our design team. Work alongside industry-leading talent to build new worlds that challenge players and set new standards. We look forward to your creative solutions to make great games even better!
Please note: This is not an entry-level position. Professional experience is required.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineers to create new tools and systems
- Focus on character designs from concept to implementation
- Design, develop, and polish unique game content and systems
- Tune key aspects of the game, including AI gameplay, character balance, and controls
- Work alongside level designers to build relationships between gameplay elements
Requirements
- At least 2 years of professional experience in combat design, with at least one shipped title
- Strong communication skills and the ability to convey abstract concepts with other members of the team
- Detail-oriented, thorough, and proactive - Seek information to solve issues from all areas of game development on your own
- Strong documentation and data organization. Follow established name schemes and document new processes that you create or use on a daily basis
- Experience using both text-based and GUI-based scripting systems
- Knowledge of competitive products and various gameplay genres/trends
