Blizzard Entertainment’s Information Systems team is looking for an experienced and talented Systems Engineer to join our Productivity and Collaboration team. The P&C team is responsible for the infrastructure and services which support collaboration with productivity SaaS enterprise services like Slack, Monday.com, Miro, Proofpoint, Staffbase; and suites like Office 365 and Google Workspace (G Suite).

This role will focus on operational support for our SaaS enterprise services with a focus on DevOps. The ideal candidate is experienced in designing, operating, automating and troubleshooting these productivity and collaboration platforms. This role will specialize in service infrastructure and will address enterprise-level choices which enable collaboration across the entire company and empower administrators to support our end users.

A good Systems Engineer is a self-starter who watches for every area of improvement and proactively drives new solutions to stay ahead of the company’s needs; thinks code first and looks for opportunities to automate and self-service. Working directly with our project management and other IT teams, this role will drive decisions which will shape our services for years to come. This role also works directly with our Security team to review proposed configurations before implementing, and to address any issues with existing infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, integrate, and provide operational support for productivity & collaboration SaaS enterprise services like Slack, Monday.com, Miro, etc.

  • Think code first and promote a DevOps way of working with an emphasis on self-service and automation.

  • Integrate on-prem and SaaS productivity & collaboration services with an emphasis on process automation.

  • Monitor service health and improve monitoring toolkits for better service insight and alerting.

  • Create documentation such as Standard Operating Procedures, Knowledge Base articles, Architectural diagrams, and Troubleshooting Guides which promote user and administrator self-service.

  • Support our collaboration services during business hours and in an on-call rotation.

  • Provide guidance to integration teams and other administrators from across the business.

  • Handle customer requests regarding P&C services via ServiceNow and Jira.

Requirements

  • 3 years’ experience designing, implementing, and managing Slack Enterprise Grid

  • 3 years’ experience engineering new enterprise solutions from requirements gathering through implementation, documentation, and operational handoff.

  • 3 years’ experience leveraging scripting languages like Python, JavaScript and PowerShell to automate administrative tasks

  • 3 years’ experience working in a DevOps environment, or knowledge of DevOps principles

  • 3 years’ experience working in cloud platforms, e.g., Azure, GCP, or AWS

  • 5 years’ experience diagnosing and troubleshooting IT services, leveraging logical problem solving to quickly identify and address root causes.

  • Proficiency with raw data management using tools and formats like Excel, JSON, and csv

  • Experience designing, implementing, and integrating using the Microsoft Power Platform

  • Experience designing, implementing, and integrating services with Okta for SSO and access management

  • Experience designing, implementing, and managing Office 365 a plus

  • Experience designing, implementing, and managing on-prem or hybrid Exchange.

  • Experience managing and supporting SharePoint for internal and external collaboration.

  • Experience designing and implementing REST API JSON payloads, method calls, and properly handling responses.

  • Advanced knowledge of computer security systems, applications, procedures, and techniques.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Bonus Points For

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Experience with pandas, requests, Slack Bolt, Slack SDK, and azure identity Python libraries

  • Relevant Slack, SaaS and Microsoft Certifications

  • Experience designing and managing Google Workspace/G Suite.

  • Experience with MS Visio

  • Experience with SQL

  • Experience migrating and/or consolidating on-prem and SaaS tenants

  • Experience implementing and managing SSO services like Okta

  • Experience with email edge protection (ex. Proofpoint)

  • Virtualization experience with VMware and Hyper-V

  • Understanding of ITIL framework.

  • Experience using GitHub or other source control service.

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $77,500 - $143,376 Annual. This base pay range is for the U.S. and is not applicable to locations outside of the U.S. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
