We are seeking an Audio Software Engineer to help build out our tools and pipelines to enable rich game audio for the shared game engine and future Blizzard titles.

Covid-19 Hiring Update: We’ve transitioned to a work-from-home model and we’re continuing to interview and hire during this time. This role is expected to begin as a remote position. We understand each person’s circumstances may be unique and will work with you to explore possible interim options.

What you’ll do…

  • Collaborate in a team environment to meet our shared goals and vision
  • Empower engineers and content creators to build the next generation of Blizzard games
  • Leverage your experience and knowledge to develop a shared audio toolkit
  • Support and develop audio pipelines and tools used by multiple game projects
  • Extend and enhance tools and runtime support for rich voice and localization support
  • Build positive relationships with audio content teams across Blizzard
  • Actively and enthusiastically seek out help, code reviews, and advice
  • Develop and maintain quality tests and processes for your code

To succeed you must have…

  • Interest in audio programming and a love for videogame soundscapes
  • The ability to understand and write effective “close to the machine” C++ code
  • The capacity to make frequent, readable, well-tested code commits
  • Communication skills for sharing ideas clearly, learning from others, and giving meaningful feedback
  • Experience collaborating with content creators (audio, designers, animators)

We’d love it if you also have…

  • Experience building and maintaining UI or other visual tools
  • Deep interest in or understanding of the audio domain of engineering
  • Familiarity with either Audiokinetic Wwise or FMOD
  • Comfort with git, Perforce, or other source control services
  • Experience working with or contributing to in-house engine development
