This role is anticipated to be assigned to work fully on-site at an Activision Blizzard office.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, recruit, coach, and manage a team towards individual and team excellence

  • Accountable for the quality of all work and relationships on the team

  • Drive test development, estimation, planning, execution, reporting, and closure

  • Coordinate responsible test area with regional teams

  • Drive project schedules for test area

  • Create, monitor, and control metrics impacting product and team quality

  • Analyze product quality and usability, associated system limitations, and report on risk

  • Host test closure activities; e.g. testware evaluation, knowledge transfer, retrospectives

  • Connect, and partner with teams across Blizzard towards quality initiatives

  • Provide high value quality-related services to development leadership

  • Develop training materials for project team and lead workshops for test leadership, requirements gathering, and risk identification

  • Coach and develop leadership talent across the department for succession planning

  • Champion and influence software development best practices and the customer experience always

  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience

  • Certification in any of the following: PMP, Scrum Master, ISTQB-ATM

  • Experience leading test teams: 7+ years

  • Management experience: 5+ years

  • Experience with white/gray/black box and automation test methods

  • Demonstrated experience in test planning for complex features/systems

  • A good understanding of World of Warcraft systems, player types, and game content (or similar MMO)

  • Passion for video games and software quality

Pluses

  • Shipped multiple game titles as a test lead

  • Coding knowledge: XML/HTML, JavaScript, Python, Java, C/C++/C#, SQL

  • Familiarity with Blizzard Entertainment line of products and services

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $77,760.00 - $143,920.00 Annual. This base pay range is for the U.S. and is not applicable to locations outside of the U.S. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
