Summary

Blizzard Entertainment is looking for a Senior Test Lead. This professional test leadership position will drive a product test effort with dynamic and static analysis test techniques while always keeping an eye out for test automation opportunities. The position is responsible for leading, recruiting, and coaching a small team towards individual and team excellence. The lead is responsible for planning and coordinating the overall test coverage of a product. The ideal candidate is a positive leader who enhances value in testing and proactively communicates about product readiness.

Responsibilities

  • Be an expert in static and dynamic analysis techniques for verification/validation of a product

  • Create, monitor, and control metrics impacting product and team quality

  • Reduce manual regression testing through automation initiatives

  • Lead all test planning, execution, control, and closure phases for the scope of work for the test team

  • Build the master test plan/test strategy and maintain it through all test phases, including risk assessment for the products.

  • Develop and maintain positive business relationships with all stakeholders

  • Supervise bug maintenance, triage, and standards

  • Collaborate with SDET/Feature Engineers to ensure requirements are met by the test automation/testware

  • Develop training materials for project team and lead workshops for test leadership, requirements gathering, and risk identification

  • Coach and develop leadership talent across the department for succession planning

  • Champion and influence software development practices and the customer experience

  • Practice good judgement to mix and time test strategies to achieve results within business constraints

  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a closely related field

  • 5+ years of leadership and 10+ years of testing experience with a deep understanding of test practices.

  • Solid understanding of acceptance, functional, regression, exploratory, integration, security, risk-based and configuration-based testing.

  • Experience working in SCRUM/Agile Environments close to a development team.

  • Strong communication skills in both verbal and written formats.

  • Experience with API Manual and Automated Testing (Postman, JUnit, TestNG, Rest Assured SoapUI)

  • Experience working with Java & JavaScript (Writing, Executing, and Troubleshooting Automation Scripts – Front or Back End)

  • Experience with Web Testing and Web Automation (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright or similar frameworks)

  • Experience with CI/CD Pipelines (Jenkins), JIRA, Confluence, Github, TestRail (or similar Test Case Management Solutions)

  • Professional written and oral communication skills

  • A proven ability to identify impediments and implement realistic solutions

Pluses

  • ISTQB Advanced or Expert Certifications

  • Experience in Ecommerce technologies/platforms/services to design test for web services (micro-services), web sites (SPAs), security.

  • Experience with Linux, Docker, and Cloud Networking (AWS/GCP/Azure)
