You bring with you experience in:

  • Lead communication, provide feedback to external technical artists, and help maintain a strong creative relationship between external and internal art team.

  • Generate detailed documentation, video reference, and examples of art asset production, procedures, and engine requirements to support the external artists.

  • Be responsible for the quality control over all incoming art assets, providing detailed feedback and approvals to external artists to deliver quality assets to the development team.

  • Authoring sophisticated and flexible character rigs if necessary

  • High proficiency in character Skinning, Rigging and Technical Workflows

  • Teaming up with Engineers and Technical Artists to help further the state of development tools

  • Familiarity with multiple areas of content creation with a focus on character technical art such as rigging, skinning, and clothes simulation

  • Supervise external tech artists to Implement approved assets into the game engine, along with making any needed fixes to keep assets consistent and game ready.

  • Work closely with the outsource art director, Internal technical artist and production team to determine outsourcing needs.

Extra awesome points for:

  • Experience working with outsourcing teams and/or art outsourcing vendors

  • Proficient in one or more of the following DCC applications

  • Maya, ZBrush, Motionbuilder, Havok, Houdini

  • Familiarity writing tools in Python or C++ for DCC applications such as Maya and Perforce.

  • Must be highly organized, driven, customer focused, and a great standout colleague.

  • Strong technical problem-solving skills

  • Familiar with next generation asset creation pipelines and tools

  • Teaching and management experience

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $80,800.00 - $149,400.00 Annual. This base pay range is for the U.S. and is not applicable to locations outside of the U.S. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
