Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

Team Management

  • Set the strategic and operational direction for the APAC CP team. You are expected to set each team member with an annual growth target, business development strategy and continuously monitor progress.
  • Work closely with International VP, CP Global Heads, and Local Leaders to ensure team focus on operational goals are in line with global and Regional strategies.

Licensing/Business Development

  • Set and execute an annual growth target and business development strategy for each market that consider Global strategies and local specificities. Develop a clear franchise growth & diversification plan by market for all the core properties and identify market-specific opportunities.
  • Prospect, identify and source best licensing opportunities for APAC merchandise programs. Negotiate and work with global CP team to finalize licensing agreements for APAC region.
  • Manage ongoing relationship with licensees and ensure execution of contract terms (financial goals, manufacturing quality control, marketing commitment etc.)
  • Once the licensee is signed, nurture all aspects of the partnership (Product development, long-term Range planning, Joint-Marketing Initiatives, Sales analysis etc.) including quarterly business review with the goal to build long and win-win relationships
  • Agent selection and day to day Management in the Region. Ensure agents receive required franchise plans and assets in a timely manner.

Ecommerce Management

  • Manage the development of our ecommerce business in the Region with a special focus on our official Gear Store.
  • Work closely with the Gear Store operator in China to maximize our sales, especially during the key beats (D11, D12, 618 etc.).
  • Develop and drive innovative local marketing strategies to drive web traffic and sales. Build a strategic alliance with the local Marketing Teams to maximize the support of our own media (battlenet, social, CRM etc.).
  • Establish and monitor KPIs for store performance.

Event Management

  • Manage local CP marketing for character and esports based product lines.
  • Capitalize on regional esports events to generate merchandising opportunities.

Financial

  • Ensure all markets deliver (or exceed) annual revenue targets. Provide quarterly business forecasts to evaluate progress against budget. Highlight any upsides or sensitivities.

Player Profile

Skills & Knowledge

  • Totally fluent in English (read/write/speak)
  • Advanced language skills in Cantonese and/or Mandarin (read/write/speak). Other language skills are positive (in particular Korean or Japanese) but not essential
  • Ability to work independently and with limited oversight and direction
  • Understanding of the video game and esports industry is highly desired
  • Ability to collaborate and influence cross functional teams (such as
  • development, creative, marketing, legal, etc.)
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously and meet deadlines consistently
  • Ability to work and thrive in a team environment with various internal groups
  • Strong organizational and project management skills is required

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of fifteen years’ experience in developing and negotiating merchandise licensing deals
  • Minimum 7 years of managing and directing the work of employees
  • Bachelor’s degree or local equivalent with a focus on business development and/or another related field: MBA is preferred
  • Knowledge of and relationships with merchandise licensing vendors/agents in APAC
  • Proven track record and experience in working with a matrix international organization requiring internal collaboration and alignment
  • Strong understanding of internal stakeholder groups such as marketing, sales, retail, finance, product development and brand managers
  • Experience in developing marketing plans; with focus on digital/social media marketing
  • Experience with P&L and budget management
  • Experience with trade shows and events management

  • Domestic & International travel will be required
