Blizzard Video is the video production arm of the Story & Franchise Development team. We exist to engage, inform and activate the global Blizzard community through the creation of epic video content, and we’re looking for a hardworking Motion Graphics Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate must be an experienced Artist Manager with a strong background in motion graphics (MGFX) or post-production. As Motion Graphics Manager, they will be responsible for a team of very hardworking MGFX artists, providing them with the tools and support needed to deliver world class graphic content. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator with outstanding written, verbal and linguistic communications skills. They should also be very attentive and meticulous with regards to time management, organization and creative problem solving.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular one-on-ones with team members

  • Work closely with MGFX Lead and MGFX Producer on project delegation to keep on budget/schedule while still creating growth/experimentation opportunities

  • Communicate needs of the team to producers, directors, editors and team leadership.

  • Regularly communicate performance feedback to and from artists

  • Approve Timecards and maintain time-off calendar for MGFX Team

  • Work with artists to set and maintain annual and long-term career pathing goals

  • Collaborate with MGFX Lead on growth opportunities for individual artists and the MGFX Team

  • Help define, document, and maintain best practices

  • Recruit and onboard new hires

  • Schedule and lead recurring team all-hand meetings

  • Collaborate on annual AOP/headcount planning

  • Submit and manage support tickets and software/hardware requests

Required Experience

  • 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably within a trailer or promotional content environment.

  • Knowledge of motion graphics and post-production workflows (2d/3d design and animation / composting).

  • Must be a proactive self-starter with ability to troubleshoot and solve problems independently

  • Able to maximize all resources, actively and constantly seeking efficiencies.

  • Must be able to work remotely and communicate with the team electronically.

  • Excellent teamwork skills with ability to maintain strong individual contributions.

Plusses

  • Familiarity with Blizzard’s game worlds and the stories told within them.

  • Familiarity with gaming culture and an interest in video games.

  • Familiarity with localization/versioning processes and associated workflows
