Blizzard Entertainment has an opening for a talented and enthusiastic software integration specialist to join our Battle.net Game Services team!

You will work with a small and talented team that develops scalable, highly performant game services and interact across Blizzard to integrate and operate that platform in collaboration with all our games. This role focuses on onboarding and certifying game team stakeholders around the company. Should have a strong focus on improving the integration experience on how our stakeholders utilize our APIs, SDKs and documentation. The current primary goal is to empower stakeholders to integrate with the platform more simply, more automatically, and in a more hands-off self-driven manner by designing, planning and developing means of improving our integration practices through a combination of process, internal software tools development, and project management of integrations. You will be part of a newly forming team owns this effort and become a part of driving this goal with a large amount of autonomy and will have a lot of latitude towards making it as effective as possible. All while frequently communicating and collaborating with all of our games to make it happen across Blizzard.

The Game Services Group develops the software, services and infrastructure that keeps millions of players online simultaneously worldwide, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. When a player logs in, sends a friend request, a whisper, or a chat within one of our rich virtual worlds, Game Services powers these capabilities. When you use voice chat, check your profile statistics, or create a new social group, we are the team that makes those things possible. From Overwatch to Hearthstone, StarCraft 2 to Diablo 3, World of Warcraft to Heroes, regardless of the game, time zone, or scale, Game Services is ready to answer the call with effectiveness and professionalism, acting as the central pillar to supercharge all player engagement.

You will join a team that is an internal hub at Blizzard and would be involved in some fashion on nearly every major release within Blizzard!

REQUIREMENTS

  • A minimum of 3 years combined professional experience in software as integration specialist, project management, testing and documentation.
  • Very strong soft/interpersonal and communications skills, with a customer service friendly and empathetic approach. Our customers are Blizzard’s game teams. Our products are services and APIs.
  • Previous experience integrating SDKs and API services to multiple consumers.
  • Previous experience in developing automating and tooling to enable onboarding and improve ease-of-use for integrators.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience

PLUSES

  • Understanding of service-oriented architectures, including web services, message-oriented middleware, security, and n-tier architectures
  • Familiarity with various forms of testing practices, including integration, regression, acceptance, functional and load testing, ideally automated
  • Familiarity with C++
  • Familiarity with HTTP/JSON, AMQP and Google Protobuf
  • Familiarity with the Spring Framework and Java EE paradigms and concepts.
  • Familiarity with the Oracle RDBMS
