Blizzard Entertainment is seeking a high performing Director, a first-level strategic leader to join our localization team. You will be responsible to provide strategic direction for a department or a collection of smaller groups to meet business objectives.

We are looking for an experienced leader to lead the department with vision of continuous improvement where everyone can contribute no matter their seniority of roles. You will create an environment where people can innovate, being creative, and communicate opportunities on their area of expertise.

Responsibilities

Proactively and effectively work with the Global Localization organization and regional cross-functional stakeholders to ensure all projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Optimize performance of projects using appropriate systems, tools and techniques
Mentor personnel to facilitate growth within the department and company
Support all Blizzard employee developmental programs
Monitor key performance indicators to evaluate efficiency and make change as necessary
Manage vendor relationships, performance, and quality while maintaining reasonable costs
Manage logistics for localization work performed in your region
Partner with the Global Localization organization to provide detailed project plans and reports, and to create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all stakeholders
Handle urgent localization requests from regions to ensure required timelines are met
Analyze data to identify, prioritize and address risks and opportunities to improve efficiency
Interview, test, hire and assist with training full-time and temporary employees
Formulate and execute succession planning programs
Long term resource planning and short to medium term execution against those plans
Maintain and build upon a positive work environment
Other duties as assigned by management

Requirements

Excellent understanding of localization, quality assurance and dev production cycles
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
Able to influence cross-functional teams to develop collaboration and commitment
Excellent organizational and analytical skills and a detail-oriented problem-solving approach
Typically has 12+ years of applicable experience
Minimum 4+ years direct supervisory experience.
Expertise of all relevant business relationships and partnerships within Blizzard.
Seasoned experience in a business leadership role or expert level depth in a technical field.
Ability to increase the autonomy and accountability of the workforce.
Being able to provide high results and create a high performing culture

Project management certification (PMP, Scrum, etc.)
Knowledge and experience with localization tools and services, including data analytics tools
Experience of working in a console/mobile gaming industry as a project manager
