Blizzard is looking for a player-centric community manager to develop and grow the Diablo community. The ideal candidate has a deep and intrinsic understanding of how communications, content, social media, dank memes, influencer relationships intersect with each other, and is adept at crafting community plans that cohesively bring all these elements together. They are a tireless advocate for the voice of the player, with the ability to analyze community discussions, constantly seeking to build bridges, trust, and foster constructive dialogue with the community.

Covid-19 Hiring Update:

We’ve transitioned to a work-from-home model, and we’re continuing to interview and hire during this time. This role is expected to begin as a remote position. We understand each person’s circumstances may be unique and will work with you to explore possible interim options. This role is anticipated to be assigned to work on-site at an Activision Blizzard office. Remote eligible:

This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The potential home studio for this role is Albany, NY or Irvine, CA. However, we understand each person’s circumstances may be unique and will work with you to explore other possible options, including remote work arrangements.

Hybrid:

This role is anticipated to be assigned as a hybrid work model position, with some work on-site at the Blizzard office and some work remote.

Responsibilities

  • Track, analyze and report on content and program performance data to drive continuous improvement, optimization, and innovation

  • Contribute to content strategy and player-facing communications, including active engagement on community channels and reactive messaging

  • Strategize, develop, and execute on compelling editorial-based communications such as blogs, patch notes, presentations and more

  • Develop and execute key community initiatives including contests, live events, content partnerships, and influencer/creator integrations and more

  • Manage editorial content calendars and milestones, delivering content to cross-functional and regional teams

  • Help support creator strategy including identifying potential new creators while supporting and building long-term relationships with existing partners

  • Establishing player feedback loops with players and dev teams, providing meaningful reporting on community sentiment, concerns, and suggestions

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience building communities, community listening and reporting, collaborating with partners, managing talent, and supporting live events in a related field or on major consumer brands;

  • 3+ years of familiarity with Diablo franchise titles and ARPG’s through the understanding of game mechanics, community channels, and content creators.

  • 3+ years of experience working with product and brand communications and copywriting

  • 3+ years of experience and in-depth knowledge of current community and content distribution channels, and the role they play in community and publishing strategy

  • 3+ years of experience working with 3rd party gaming communities and content creators

  • Highly organized, proactive self-starter, with demonstrated ability to plan and self-manage concurrent content pipelines and programs

  • Ability to think on your feet, multi-task like a champ, and think both strategically and creatively

Pluses

  • Bachelor's Degree in communication, marketing, or relevant job experience

  • Project management training and experience

  • Proficiency with Confluence, JIRA, Sharepoint, Sprinklr, Wrike

  • A passionate gamer possess-ing ample experience with Blizzard games

  • Existing strong personal network within Blizzard’s communities

  • Experience with mobile game communities and mobile gaming in general

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $64,640.00 - $119,520.00 Annual. This base pay range is for the U.S. and is not applicable to locations outside of the U.S. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
