Chief of Staff to the EVP

The Chief of Staff to the EVP, Platform & Technology of Blizzard Entertainment will be a trusted advisor to the EVP and will play a critical role in bringing the leadership team of stakeholders together across various functions, to help accelerate progress and ensure LT alignment runs a rigorous and disciplined business. In this role, you will enable the leadership team to focus on the largest strategic initiatives by assuming the day to day responsibilities for the organizational and operational effectiveness of the team.

As the Chief of Staff, you will own the rhythm of business, be responsible for business performance and budget management. You will partner with the EVP and the senior leadership team to influence our culture, define our people investments and strategic initiatives. You will have an amazing opportunity to help create clarity and define what success looks like for the team.

Responsibilities

Maximizing Effectiveness

  • Serves as a sounding board to the EVP, Platform & Technology to provide an objective, independent perspective on ideas and issues
  • Establishes efficient and powerful status reporting and scorecarding to report on the health and performance of key initiatives and activities
  • Drafts and distributes EVP, Platform & Technology presentations, documents, and communications, as appropriate
  • Partners with HR to address staffing needs, issues, or planning within the EVP, Platform & Technology organization
  • Helps identify items that can be delegated to others to optimize the EVP, Platform & Technology’s time allocation to high-value activities
  • Attends meetings, provides direction, and addresses inquiries or issues on behalf of the EVP, Platform & Technology as his proxy
  • Manages the responsibilities and day-to-day activities of the Executive Assistant of the EVP, Platform & Technology, as well as a small team of individual contributors
  • Identifies, develops, and implements continuous process improvements to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the EVP, Platform & Technology

Strategic Initiatives

  • Successfully leads and executes key initiatives end-to-end including discovery, delivery, and adoption
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with executives, senior leaders, and stakeholders to achieve project objectives and deliverables
  • Establishes an annual strategic planning process to identify, evaluate, and prioritize strategic initiatives, ensuring they are tightly linked to Blizzard’s overall SEGMENT strategy and drive business value
  • Creates and manages the processes and tools by which the health and performance of the portfolio of strategic initiatives are tracked, reported, and communicated to the broader organization

Financial and Budgeting Processes

  • Partners with Finance to establish and improve financial processes, including planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis
  • Develops metrics and reporting to communicate financial performance, providing senior leaders with transparency and decision support to dynamically adjust to changing demands

Senior Leadership Decision-making and Meetings

  • Plans and develops agendas for key meetings
  • Documents and communicates decisions and action items from meetings
  • Ensures follow-up and closure of action items
  • Shares information and learnings across teams

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience as a program or project manager
  • Proven experience leading large-scale, cross-organizational, complex enterprise programs or projects utilizing internal and vendor resources
  • Experience in effectively interacting with executives and senior leaders
  • Experience of building effective business processes for diverse teams
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills
  • Comfortable presenting and communicating to large groups and across all levels of the organization in an effective, situationally appropriate, clear, and high-quality manner
  • Capable of strong individual contribution and influence across non-direct reporting teams
  • Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders throughout the organization
  • Ability and emotional maturity to work in a productive and cooperative way with a variety of people ranging from CVPs to individual contributors and support staff
  • Ability to translate ideas into clear, high impact communications
  • Ability to maintain good judgment in fast-paced, high-stress environments
  • Ability to excel in an ambiguous environment, orchestrating strategic and complex business activity
  • Ability to work independently and deliver results with little supervision; ability to prioritize tasks across multiple projects
  • Detail-oriented; Results-oriented; Problem solver
  • Ability to travel to support the EVP, Platform & Technology, as needed
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related discipline or prior work experience in one or more of these disciplines

Pluses

  • Prior experience reporting directly to a C-level executive
  • Big 4 management consulting experience
  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration or a related discipline
