Blizzard Entertainment is looking for an Associate Software Engineer to join Marketing Platform Team in Korea. You’ll be responsible for creating new (and improving existing) web applications as well as helping to drive architecture and best practices across the team. As an associate Software Engineer, you’ll be expected to be a strong individual contributor in addition to effectively working with the team to drive project success, and have the proven ability to release quality software in a rapid development lifecycle. The ideal candidate must be passionate about technology, the web, video games, and a desire to work in a creative, challenging and rewarding environment.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain web applications and database applications for various web services like Snowball Platform, promotion sites, internal tools and etc.

  • Develop backend services to improve user experience of game services and operation

  • Collaborate with co-workers to deliver quality products

  • Learn and grow with the team, adapting to new technologies

Minimum Requirements

Experience

  • A minimum of internship experience in the industry building web applications or equivalent training and professional experience.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or related field, or equivalent training, and professional experience.

  • Knowledge of computer science fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, and design patterns.

  • Knowledge of web architectures.

  • Understanding of web-related technologies (e.g. HTML/ XHTML, HTTP, SOAP, REST, TCP/IP, DNS).

  • Experience working with RDBMS and SQL.

  • Comfortable with Linux / Unix, Bash, Apache, and J2EE application servers.

  • Ability to perform in a team environment on multiple simultaneous projects and willingness to learn.

  • Smooth communication, analytical and collaborative problem-solving skills.

Extra Points

Experience

  • Experience with JS frameworks (React, Vue.js, etc.).

  • Experience with developing localized websites and applications.

  • Good English written and verbal communications skills.

  • Agile/ Scrum.
