The Associate Director of Global Activation and Investment will oversee Blizzard Entertainment’s global live operations and performance media campaigns for their console and PC games (e.g., World of Warcraft, Diablo, and Overwatch). Utilizing their data-driven decision-making and role as a Global Growth Marketing leader, they'll work with their media specialists to drive best-in-class activations and generate player acquisition and monetization.

Prospects will be highly skilled in team management and familiar with core and emerging advertising approaches. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified individual to make a measurable impact at one of the largest gaming companies in the world.

Covid-19 Hiring Update: We’re currently in a work-from-home model, and we’re continuing to interview and hire during this time. This role is expected to begin as a remote position but will transition to at least a partial in-office position based out of Irvine, CA. We understand each person’s circumstances may be unique and will work with you to explore possible interim options.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

Management – 50%

  • Manage the day-to-day global activity of all performance media campaigns, covering social, video, search, programmatic mediums

  • Guide team workflow, being a conduit between activation team and other departments

Media Buying Operations – 20%

  • Working cross-functionally with internal teams and agency partners to establish and maintain content calendars, assets, and creative for all campaigns

  • Taking ownership of financial tracking, helping ensure proper billing and payment

Partnerships – 20%

  • Maintain strong partnerships with internal teams and international counterparts

  • Collaborate with key media vendors on behalf of Activision Blizzard

  • Participate in larger team projects on the future of media buying and activation

Learning & Development – 10%

  • Monitor trends in performance and brand media; keep tabs on emerging platforms and advertising units

Must Haves

  • 8+ years of data-driven media planning and proven cases of bringing plans to execution

  • 5+ years of management experience

  • Experience buying in-platform with numerous ad platforms, including but not limited to Meta, Snapchat, Tiktok, and Google

  • Proven track record in operating with a high-level of energy, commitment, and enthusiasm to take on a challenging role with cross-functional commitments

  • Expert at Excel; proficiency with other MS Office products

  • General understanding of deploying and interpreting results from A/B, split tests, and brand lift studies a bonus

  • Experience with mobile user acquisition, a bonus

  • Flexible work hours, weekend and evening work will be required from time to time
