Overview

The Blitz Product team is seeking an experienced Design Researcher to help us build and scale the user research practice and support product development. This is an active, cross-functional role that will work closely with Product, Design, and Data to research, test, evaluate and inform feature ideation.

Responsibilities

  • Stay current on market trends, competitor products, relevant published literature, and UI/UX research strategies
  • Work with games content to coordinate, document, and conduct user interviews
  • Build research participant pools
  • Lead conversation with stakeholders, designers, and product to understand goals of features to align the focus of each study
  • Present plans, results, and timelines of user research studies back to other members of Product and Design
  • Directly translate results into suggestions for design adjustment
  • Conduct research using a wide variety of qualitative and some quantitative methods to create actionable insights across the product development lifecycle, including UX testing of early prototypes, such as usability, 1:1s, group interviews, and surveys
  • Develop UX metrics to ensure quality and benchmarking of products
  • Collect feedback on designs and feature prototypes to support desktop games such as Valorant, League of Legends, CS:GO, and mobile games such as Garena Free-Fire or WildRift.
  • Share best practices and new techniques with the broader product development team

Education and Experience

  • 5-10 years working as a UX Researcher on consumer SAAS products
  • Degree in HCI, Psychology, or Design
  • Program Knowledge: Familiar with design and prototyping software such as Figma
  • Experience working in Agile

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with gaming, coaching and or learning theory, esports, or a passion for playing online video games
