Black Shamrock is looking for a Graphics Programmer that is keen on keeping visual quality high while ensuring our code is tight and optimized for renowned AAA games. As a Graphics Programmer you will be responsible for creating, maintaining, debugging, and optimizing shaders for cross-platform titles. You will also need to validate that rendering and memory budgets are respected during development, so that these titles can successfully ship across multiple platforms. This position is ideal for an experienced programmer who would like to work on a wide range of AAA titles within the games industry.

Responsibilities of the Role

  • Improve and maintain the rendering modules of different game engines
  • Profile games and analyse findings to propose optimization strategies
  • Debug and solve graphic issues to guarantee high visual quality
  • Optimize the rendering code to get the best performance on all platforms
  • Write clear, maintainable, portable code
  • Write and maintain custom shaders across a range of hardware
  • Collaborate with a team of engineers, artists, and designers
  • Develop shaders and quality effects to support the Art direction and unique visual style of our games

Required Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of C#, C++
  • Deep understanding of Unity and Unreal Engine
  • Interest in rendering algorithms
  • Good knowledge of low-level graphics APIs
  • Graphics debugging using PIX, RenderDoc, Razor, or similar tools
  • Thorough understanding of multithreaded & real-time systems
  • Experience profiling and optimizing both CPU and GPU
  • Absolute passion for playing and making computer games
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent professional experience

Advantageous Skills

  • Knowledge of various tools and UI frameworks (QT, ImGUI, MFC, etc.)
  • A published title for PC, Console, or Mobile
