BioWare creates games focused on rich stories, unforgettable characters and vast worlds. It operates primarily out of Edmonton (Alberta, CAN) and Austin (Texas, USA) creating some of the world's most critically acclaimed titles since 1995. The studio is working on future game experiences for the Mass Effect™ franchise, one of the highest rated video game series of all time, and the Dragon Age™ franchise, whose latest entry was the 2014 Game of the Year. We are also working on announced projects Star Wars™ The Old Republic™, a story-driven massively multiplayer online game, and Anthem™, a co-operative Action-RPG set in a new and mysterious world.

The Development Manager provides project management support for a team composed of a variety of disciplines including artists, designers, software engineers, and other production staff. You will oversee your teams deadlines and help move the development team from one project phase to the next while ensuring collaboration and communication. You will report to a Development Director, and partner with Producers and Creative Directors to ensure the project is managed on time, to quality, and within budget.

This is a 12-month contract role.

Responsibilities :

You will:

  • Manage 1-2 project teams to ensure that deliverables and goals are met.
  • Partner with senior production and your team leads to manage scope/capacity.
  • Establish and assign milestone goals to your team from defined project goals.
  • Contribute to the risk mitigation for assigned scope and goals
  • Report and evaluate issues for your team by working with other production staff in the department.
  • Communicate with project team and coordinate requirements with external partners

Qualifications:

  • 3 years Project Management or Project Coordination experience in a software, gaming or equivalent experience.
  • Agile software project management framework (Scrum, Kanban and Lean) is a plus
  • Proficiency and previous experience with JIRA is a plus
