Report to: Head of Esports

We support Betway's growth in major international markets and the Esport industry, we cover sponsorships with Ninjas in Pyjamas, BIG and MiBR, as well as the Esports Brand Strategy and activation. Collaborating and working with all departments, you’ll be constantly thinking, exploring and learning. Using insights into language and culture, you’ll contribute to ensuring the market is robust, adaptable and growing.

Purpose of the role:

The Esports Global Brand & Sponsorship Manager will have an active role in developing the global Esports brand and sponsorship strategy as well as executing global campaigns and deals, whilst supporting existing country-specific brand teams as they upskill and activate locally. Their focus will be to create and implement innovative brand campaigns which drive awareness, preference and customer engagement.

The Esports Global Brand & Sponsorship Manager will be responsible for managing two direct reports who are solely responsible for sponsorship management and activation. They’ll also be responsible for investigating the competitive environment, monitoring market trends and identifying new profit-making / brand equity building opportunities.

You will be responsible for :

The position will involve the following areas of responsibility:

  • Strongly contributing to the development of the global Esports brand strategy and management of our multi-channel media / comms plans, targeting both new and existing customers
  • Co-ordinating delivery of our TTL plans, ensuring all communications are developed, approved and delivered as required
  • Take full responsibility for the portfolio of Esports sponsorships and any ambassadors
  • Lead the Esports sponsorship team ensuring the day-to-day operational requirements of each sponsorship ensuring all rights are delivered, activated and tracked
  • Ensure effective management and planning of all sponsorship rights and events
  • Analysing and reporting on business performance, where possible optimising plans to gain competitive advantage
  • Closely following competitor activity and identifying new areas of potential for the business
  • Communications architecture, visual identity and brand experience
  • Engaging and developing relationships with internal and external partners / agencies to align and amplify our plans
  • Overseeing the production of creative, including events, merchandise, TV and digital
  • Make recommendations on new commercial opportunities as well as exit plans, where appropriate
  • Oversee brand consistency across channels
  • Championing the Esports brand across the team and the wider business and ensuring that all activities meet the appropriate compliance standards and brand guidelines

You will have:

  • Business level proficiency in verbal and written English
  • Experience working in, and knowledge of the global Esports market
  • Passion for Esports and Sports
  • Proven experience managing a brand communications strategy
  • Proven experience in managing sponsorship properties
  • Experience planning media (agency or client side)
  • Experience of working across multiple markets and localising campaigns per market
  • Experience integrating plans across multiple media channels
  • Experience working on Social Media, PR and general understanding of how the digital environment works
  • Experience of managing a budget and measuring ROI
  • Experience in briefing, judging and leading creative ideas
  • Experience of working with multiple stakeholders

It would be a bonus if you also had:

  • Educated to degree level with a qualification in Business/Marketing
  • Copywriting skills
  • Experience in the gambling/gaming industry
  • Speaking a second language would prove advantageous (if aligned to operational markets)
