The QA Project Manager will play a key role in supporting the launch and continued operations of Bandai Namco games on multiple console platforms and PC. This individual will also lead multiple QA teams to support ongoing development efforts for our catalog of games.

Our ideal candidate must have experience in QA testing, planning, resource allocation, scheduling/estimation, risk analysis, and possess a strong background in the games industry. The individual in this position must be able to take ownership of end-to-end testing and quality-control efforts across all our supported projects, detect and navigate risks, keep stakeholders updated/informed, and guide our QA team to achieve superior results.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage teams of External QA Testers to support the launch and live operations of multiple game titles across console platforms and PC

  • Accountable for the quality of game releases, patches/updates, workflows for the QA team; collaborate cross-functionally to ensure all game quality and testing needs are met

  • Forecast, plan, and manage main game releases and content patch/update test schedules, requirements, and budget/resources

  • Lead, design, and/or approve test plans, checklists, documentation, and processes to ensure comprehensive coverage across all supported projects

  • Participate in smoke testing, creative/ad hoc testing, submissions/certification testing (Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo etc.)

  • Approve regional ratings submission packets (ESRB, DJCTQ etc.)

  • Drive improvements in game testing processes, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration

  • Provide quality-related support and feedback to Production and partnering development teams

  • Advise external project leads on end-to-end test strategy, execution, and reporting

  • Regularly communicate project status to internal/external project stakeholders

  • Analyze project risks and define mitigation efforts

  • Create and update team documentation as needed

  • Review printed materials for accuracy and provide feedback

  • Work closely with departments on internal initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • 4+ years’ relevant industry experience, with at least 1-2+ years in a leadership or management role

  • Experience working on multiple game launches and managing games in different stages of development

  • Experience managing globally dispersed teams

  • Ability to effectively facilitate testing for multiple worldwide releases

  • Must be able to prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment with the ability to adapt to changing priorities efficiently and effectively

  • Ability to perform under flexible work schedules to deal with worldwide timeframes

  • Console and PC game publishing experience is a big plus

  • Current with new and emerging game software and technologies

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
