POSITION SUMMARY

The PAC-MAN brand is one of BANDAI NAMCO’s most cherished and recognized IPs and we are seeking a leader to oversee its overall brand development in the Americas.

The Director, Brand Development manages and oversees the PAC-MAN brand and plays a key role in supporting all its vertical business in the Americas. This role leads a dynamic team and oversees the brand strategy, future direction, consumer messaging and corporate communication, and marketing execution of the PAC-MAN IP.

This role is also critical in supporting the licensing and PAC-MAN Business Unit and requires the ability to oversee and manage a team of brand and community managers and grow a larger, cohesive, and efficient team for the future. A strong knowledge of management, business administration, strategic and digital marketing, communications, and preferably licensing are pre-requisites for this role.

Flexible, Remote and Work From Home options are available for this position until approximately April 2022. Afterwards we expect all employee's to join us at our new offices in Irvine, California where a hybrid work schedule will be observed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leads management and strategic direction of the PAC-MAN Brand and supports the development of future business including the PAC-MAN games business, licensing, and entertainment properties
  • Develops and maintains a consistent brand identity to build strong brand and character equity
  • Manage and connect with the global PAC-MAN IP Room at HQ and facilitate communications with the other territory leads
  • Builds scenarios for brand activations and is able to calculate ROI (both forecast and actuals) using industry standard and internally relevant KPIs.
  • Drive the future business of PAC-MAN by aligning with our international entities, incorporate feedback and synthetize a global strategy for the brand.
  • Oversee the marketing of the PAC-MAN Brand including B2B and B2C communication through public relations, social media, and consumer promotions and activations
  • Developing and directing the brand identity, consumer communication, marketing, and promotion of the brand to increase the equity of the PAC-MAN business
  • Lead and execute category strategies for the PAC-MAN brand using marketing and account plans to maximize growth
  • Oversees the promotion and publishing of the PAC-MAN game business for the Americas and collaborates with overseas counterparts and the game publishing team at BNEA
  • Interfaces with BANDAI NAMCO’s publishing cross functional business to collaborate on marketing, social, brand, production, business development and communications

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position manages a small team (2-3) with supervisory responsibilities

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • A keen eye for organization, leadership qualities, and strong written and verbal communication
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the entertainment industry with focus on character-driven, video game or entertainment brand marketing, or related fields
  • Insight into the PAC-MAN brand and history, and of the Video Game and Entertainment industry
  • Proven track record of successful business management in a leadership role and directly managing a team
  • Proven track record in creating and executing digital brand campaigns.
  • Knowledge of marketing fundamentals including positioning, strategic planning, market analysis, advertising, and communications
  • Ability to leverage quantitative and qualitative insights with partners & licensees to identify market opportunities to shape consumer personas/target audiences, create business plans, brand positioning, and campaign activation
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong analytical and presentation skills, and the ability to prioritize and multi-task complex projects

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree with coursework in Business, Marketing, or equivalent work experience in the video game and/or entertainment industry
  • MBA a plus
