The studio group boasts outstanding games across multiple genres, including the Just Cause franchise, Rage 2, theHunter: Call of the Wild and Generation Zero as part of its portfolio.

On our quest to become the world’s greatest developer and self-publisher we see the need to add a brand new role for us, adding a completely new layer of support for our thriving live services and future games. We call this exciting new role Director of Publishing Services.

The Position

As Director of Publishing Services, you are responsible for services under our publishing umbrella. These include (but not necessarily limited to) Release Management, Dev Ops, Localization Management, User Research Management and Publishing QA.

Publishing Services within Avalanche Studios Group spans across our two self-publishing divisions: Expansive Worlds and Systemic Reaction. As Director of Publishing Services you report directly to the Managing Directors of both these divisions.

This role is a central point of coordination among key stakeholders (Director of Development, Heads of Marketing, Technical Directors, Creative Directors) who strives to ensure that projects benefit from a full line-up of services from the publishing organisation. The ultimate goal is to help projects achieve their full potential and reach targeted quality KPIs, whether they are pre-release or in live-service mode.

It also involves careful staff planning, in conjunction with studio staffing representatives, to ensure that the projects’ resource needs are fully satisfied.

Main responsibilities

  • Strategic overview of Publishing Services for EW and SR
  • Defining and monitoring relevant Publishing Services KPI’s
  • Establish and maintain structure for how Publishing Services are distributed across two divisions and multiple projects
  • Collaborate and coordinate with Director of Development on how Publishing Services can enable products in development and live services
  • Manages Producers and Managers within Publishing Services departments (Release Management, Dev Ops, User Research, Localization, QA)
  • Budget and capacity planning for Publishing Services across two divisions
  • Aligns with Company Management Group and other creative divisions to help find cross-unit synergies and opportunities
  • Operates within defined company policies and structures

Preferred requirements

  • Proven track-record of Project Management, within Game Development, Game Operation or similar field of service
  • Experience of shipping multiple large-scale, AAA projects in a role at the highest level of project governance
  • Experience working within Games Publishing
  • Strategic mindset combined with operational effectiveness.
  • Negotiation skills and ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Strong experience in building and leading high performing teams
  • Fully proficient in both written and spoken English
  • Strong flexibility and time management skills
  • Travelling availability to all locations included in the creative division
