The Job
Avalanche, a division of WB Games Inc., seeks an Associate Writer for their Story department. Join the team working on the upcoming game, Hogwarts Legacy, a new open world, action RPG set in the Wizarding World.
The Daily
- Strong collaboration skills. Ability to work with a team of writers and designers to create intriguing narratives that fit the themes and style of our product
- Self-Starter who will work quickly to research brand specific details to ensure the authenticity of the writing
- An avid gamer who follows current gaming trends and understands how storytelling works in an interactive environment
- Good organizational skills. Ability to utilize their time wisely and managing their writing through multiple stages of development and iteration
- Receive feedback and modify work based on direction from both the internal team and franchise representatives
The Essentials
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proficient storyteller and writer
- Expertise in Microsoft Excel a plus
- Strong organizational skills
- Knowledge of the game making process
- Ability to perform well under pressure and deliver work in a timely manner
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Strong belief in a Team-based approach
- Previous experience with Articy
- Facilitate recordings with design and cinematics teams
- Must be able to use a graphical interface to create branching dialogue scripts. Applicants should submit strong examples of storytelling
- 2+ years of relevant game production experience
