Atlanta United is Major League Soccer’s 22nd franchise and began play in 2017. The club’s avid fan base has set MLS records in fan participation, including leading the MLS in number of season tickets sold for an expansion franchise and setting a new record for number of attendees at an MLS match. About Atlanta United FC Academy

Officially launched in 2016 prior to its first season in MLS, the Atlanta United Academy program aims to be the leading platform of youth soccer development in the Southeast and currently competes in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy program. The ATL UTD Academy consists of teams in age groups U-12, U-13, U-14, U-15, U-16, U-17 and U-19. Shared with the first team, the Academy trains and competes out of the Training Ground.

About Atlanta United II (USL)

Launched in 2018, Atlanta United II competes in the second division United Soccer League. The club aims to provide a platform for growing top Academy players, developing MLS prospects, and expanding the Atlanta United brand further into Northeast Georgia. Atlanta United II will train alongside the first team and Academy at the Training Ground and will compete at Fifth-Third Bank Stadium in Kennesaw.

Position Summary

The Coordinator’s job? To make sure we know our fans better than we know ourselves.

Atlanta United is seeking a driven and knowledgeable candidate who will help to develop and build the Atlanta United brand while creating and maintaining relationships with fans, local pubs, retailers, and partners. The Coordinator will collaborate across the business to increase revenue and overall fan engagement.

The Coordinator will have marketing experience with a can-do attitude. The coordinator will be responsible for building, planning and executing programs that will maximize the brand's awareness through the message and media that are meaningful to retailers and fans. The Coordinator is committed to ATL UTD, ATL UTD 2 and the Academy and believes in the brand and the good that it can bring to the community. The Coordinator will be responsible for promotions, events, advertising and marketing while also providing support for executing business objectives, fostering fan retention and advancing the brand dominance in the marketplace. This candidate should have a passion for their work with the ability to develop ideas that will excite consumers through narrative content across all formats.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Supports the Marketing department in project coordination and internal communications
  • Builds, plans and executes effective purpose driven marketing initiatives for Atlanta United
  • Builds, plans and executes effective soccer and youth development marketing initiatives for Atlanta United, working closely with the Academy staff
  • Effectively works with Marketing, Creative Services, Partnerships, Digital and other departments to execute marketing and media campaigns for both Atlanta United and ATL UTD 2
  • Builds, plans and executes effective marketing promotion for ATL UTD 2, including partnership marketing initiatives, including but not limited to effective brand awareness, lead generation, and ticket sales marketing initiatives
  • Builds, plans and executes digital marketing campaigns for ATL UTD 2
  • Coordinates the procurement and distribution process for promotional items for ATL UTD 2
  • Assists with the ATL UTD 2 experience, including but not limited to theme nights, game scripts, programming and in-game entertainment to achieve ultimate fan experience
  • Manages relationships with media partners and vendors, to coordinate the promotions and delivery of assets for ATL UTD 2
  • Works closely with the Digital team to ensure promotions are represented on atlutd.com and relevant social channels
  • Works closely with other departments to ensure their deliverables are on-brand
  • Assists in the management of the team’s marketing budget
  • Builds and maintains collaborative relationships with all departments
  • Identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves unusual/adverse situations and makes sound decisions based on available facts and resources available
  • Develops targeted email campaigns to drive event attendance, ticket sales, and the distribution of engaging content for fans for ATL UTD 2
  • Manages all creative requests required for ATL UTD 2 emails
  • Collaborates with other departments to understand needs and goals of email campaigns
  • Management of email process from ideation or request to deployment
  • Maintain the email marketing calendar and manage email production to ensure deliverables stay on schedule
  • Coordinate creative assets with design team to ensure all email content is on brand and consistent in style
  • Develops tracking mechanisms for each campaign to help evaluate overall effectiveness, strengths and opportunities
  • Delivers weekly recaps of what is running in market and communicates regular KPI reports & performance trends
  • Stays current with event and entertainment trends while continually exploring new alternatives
  • Actively participates in relevant meetings, conference calls, and presentations and work productively as a member of the marketing team. In addition, effectively manage budgets and expenditures and adhere to all ATL UTD policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Must possess 1-2+ years of experience in marketing
  • Must have a knowledge of soccer
  • Must possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution

  • Have a can-do attitude and an ability to clearly express your ideas and suggestions within the organization
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment, moving seamlessly between team activities and tasks - coming up with creative ideas, turning those ideas into fast-moving micro-content, and distributing to digital platforms.
  • Be a hungry self-starter who is eager to help devise digital content ideas, as well as run brainstorms to embrace good ideas from other members of the organization.
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and independently
  • Ability to connect with different and dynamic consumer segments
  • Must have strong presentation & interpersonal communication skills and be self-motivated
  • Must have highly refined abilities in time management, organization, and administration
  • Must have a working knowledge of computers and programs such as Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.
