The Position

The Astro Gaming Team is growing! We are looking for a top-class, senior software engineer who is motivated to architect and guide the development of our next generation of Windows, Mac and Mobile and Cloud applications.

The ideal candidate is a highly organized, detail-oriented and passionate about building great software products and a intrinsic curiosity to understand the latest in technological tools and frameworks.

The successful candidate should be an expert in the latest software languages, frameworks, build management systems, source control systems, Agile development and defect tracking systems. This candidate must have an excellent knowledge of Windows, MacOS, iOS and Android as well as cloud based backend systems, should be comfortable working with marketing, product management, internal and external development teams to develop an integrated, cross-platform solution that delivers an exceptional experience seamlessly across PC, Mac, iOS and Android devices.

This candidate should have the ability to assist firmware, software developers in resolving technical issues. Analyze projects, identify dependencies, recommend platform components, and access on-boarding feasibility.

Your Contribution

Working closely with the product management and engineering teams, you will architect and develop Astro Gaming’s next-generation, cross-platform and mobile app solutions and provide ongoing support. Your solutions will span from end to end, starting from low-level device interaction to the customer-facing UI, and everything in between.
You will be required to develop, review, refine and present the required strategy and tactics for your solutions, and also to lead in-depth evaluations for the selection of technologies required to achieve the objectives.
You will be expected to expertly present concepts to peers and senior management. As required, you should be able to present and explain complex subjects in layman's terms to gain broad understanding and buy in.
You will produce, and oversee the production of code working with local and remote team members as well as external software contractors.
You will review, detail and propose new and innovative ideas to improve our current software suite as required before the next generation software is deployed.
You will be required to work with Logitech security standards and good safe coding practices to assure our exposure to security breaches and other potential security problems can be averted or minimized.
As a technical leader, you will be expected to participate in code reviews and provide feedback on other’s work. As required, you may be asked to lead code reviews, set code review standards or participate in cross-company forums for improving our coding and review practices.
You will be expected to follow excellent development and documentation practices for code produced, and to promote such practices within the team. As required, you will be expected to put on workshops or tutorials on new tools, good practices etc.
You will be expected to be a role model and mentor to younger engineers promoting latest technologies and processes as well as good code development practices.

Required Skill Set

8+ years of strong software design & development experience
Relevant work experience, including hands-on software development experience for PC/Device hardware configuration
Fluent in Windows, MacOS, iOS and Android platforms with relevant and demonstrable experience
Relevant experience in designing, coding, and implementing next-generation cloud-based, collaborative and multi-entity data analytics applications while ensuring adherence to software engineering best practices.
Experience with web and cloud apps, backend infrastructure and SSO
Demonstrable knowledge of databases such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
Understanding of USB device drivers as well as Windows Audio Processing Objects (APO)
Embedded firmware development experience for computer peripherals is highly desired
Developing and demonstrating a broad set of technology skills in technologies, micro service design patterns, Open Source libraries and frameworks, and technology architecture concepts.
Applying knowledge of common, relevant architecture frameworks in defining and evaluating application architectures.
QT, Python and Java/Javascript knowledge is a plus
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation and public speaking
Passion for Console, PC and Mobile gaming
Detail oriented with the ability to keep track of multiple complex issues and tasks simultaneously
BS/BA in Computer Science or equivalent technical field
