Arkane Studios, part of the ZeniMax Media Inc. company, is seeking a talented Environment Artist to join our team to help with integration, performance, and optimization. The ideal candidate will have some experience with asset creation, high poly/low poly modeling, and texture creation for AAA games. This will be a 6 month contract with the option of extension.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate and work with the Lead Environment Artist, Art Director and Level Artists to accommodate gameplay and art features into the environment.
  • Optimize models by reducing poly count and topology
  • Combine textures and/or remap UVs to reduce material draw calls for performance
  • Leverage existing assets to create new or similar assets (i.e.. kit bash and trim sheet reuse.)
  • Actively engaged and contribute to team discussion to help resolve issues

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of game industry experience in an Environment Artist Role
  • Proficiency with Maya and Unreal Engine
  • Foundation in core Environment techniques and concepts of asset creation using industry standard tools
  • Strong focus in Performance and Optimization. Reducing poly count, optimizing geometry, reducing draw calls, and general asset auditing.
  • Open to giving and taking constructive feedback and criticism
  • Self-motivated and focused worker with good communication, work ethic and collaboration skills

Preferred Skills

  • Highly organized and self-driven
  • Experience with problem solving and bug fixing
  • Game Industry and Console development experience
  • Passion for games, First Person Shooters in particular
  • Experience with other industry software is a plus. Marmoset, Marvelous Designer, Speed Tree, etc.
