Aquiris is looking for a Senior Game Designer to join our team and work on the game Wonderbox: The Adventure Maker. We are looking for a professional who is committed to product quality, has experience in game development and teamwork, and is communicative and proactive.
Responsibilities:
- Design and balancing of 3D game systems, such as combat, economy, progression and puzzles;
- Level design using proprietary tools;
- Continuous design of systems and content for a lively and dynamic game-service;
- Implementation of game mechanics with excellent game feel;
- Participation in the definition, planning and iteration of game mechanics;
- Creating technical documents that effectively summarize the purpose of a mechanic or configuration, and establishing standards for team documentation;
- Conducting full design process with problem identification, alternative generation and proposal presentation;
- Documentation and refinement of concept proposals and product requirements;
- Provide feedback to development, art, sound and UI teams on content implementation;
- Maintain ongoing contact with other teams in problem solving, with autonomy and a sense of ownership over the task;
- Design work processes for the Game Design team;
- Supervising the work of other game designers;
- Guidance, evaluation and review of specifications and implementations conducted by the team;
- Act as a reference and support in mentoring less experienced contributors.
Requirements
- Deep understanding of game mechanics of various genres and market trends;
- Know and understand fundamentals of game design such as MDA, flow and player motivations;
- Distinguish the technical limitations of all current game platforms;
- Know and know how to apply different design methodologies and production processes;
- Work with spreadsheets and other data structuring tools, including automation;
- Communicate fluently in English, speaking and writing;
- Work in teams within defined production processes;
Desirable:
- Proficiency in Unreal, Unity and Git are great pluses.
- Experience with teamwork using agile methods.
Previous experience:
- Minimum of 5 years working as a game designer, with a minimum of two titles released.
Skills:
- Create advanced behaviors applied to game mechanics;
- Create design processes according to the team's needs;

- Produce clear and accurate documentation with high quality text and visuals;
