Are you a passionate animator with a dash of technical expertise? Do you have a particular set of skills that include C#, MAX scripting, motion builder and UE4? Do you want to work by the beach making video games with a group of other, passionate, game developers? Then Antimatter Games needs you!

As our new Technical Animator, you will work with our stellar team of developers to create realistic character movement for our up-coming first-person shooter ’83, and other unannounced projects. You’ll work closely with Animators, Artists and Programmers to communicate your vision for the Technical Animation workflows and pipelines.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • You’ll be working with our animation team to define, create and maintain the animation pipeline
  • You’ll be designing and implementing complex facial and weapon rigs in 3DS Max/Maya
  • You’ll own the skinning process for a variety of characters, each with their own modular, customisable gear and physical attributes
  • You’ll be creating customisable tools and scripts to increase the productivity of the animation team
  • You will help us improve the integration of animation assets from 3DS Max/Maya and Motionbuilder to game engine
  • You’ll report to and support the Lead Animator in ad hoc tasks as required.

Requirements

  • You’ve got experience in node-based scripting
  • You are familiar with motion-capture animation and the facial pipeline for games
  • Your proficient with MAX/Maya and/or Motion Builder
  • You know how to code in MAX Scripting, Python and/or C#
  • You have an understand of and can implement gameplay animations
  • You know the animation pipeline from design to deployment
  • >You’re able to receive and apply critique on your work
  • You’re good at working to a deadline and managing your own time

Beneficial Skills

  • Experience as a technical animator on at least one shipped title for PC or console
  • Enthusiastic, methodical and organised approach to work with high quality standards
  • Able to document and explain work clearly and concisely
  • Strong knowledge of human anatomy and the visual arts
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work as part of a multi- disciplinary team
