FAQs

Is this program paid? Yes, all Andbox internships are paid a fair and competitive wage based on each individual’s unique combination of skill, experience and project assignments.

Is housing or travel paid? Unfortunately we cannot offer housing or travel compensation at this time.

Where is the program? Interns focused on highlight reel are able to work remotely. However, local candidates will have the opportunity to spend time onsite at Andbox headquarters. Filmmaking interns must be available to work onsite.

When is the program? Internships are set on a rolling basis. Scheduling is relatively flexible and will be discussed in your interview, depending on your area of focus.

How are applications evaluated? The first step of application evaluation is the resume and portfolio review. A successful portfolio will demonstrate:

  • A curated collection of your best recent work
  • Understanding of gameplay action and gaming culture
  • Robust demonstration of skills listed in your resume
  • Accurate completion times for each piece
  • Links to any published content

If your resume and portfolio are accepted, you will be invited to interview. We will move as quickly as possible to make a decision from there and provide clear information on what we are able to offer at your level.

Do I need to write a cover letter? Why? Cover letters are not required but are strongly encouraged. We understand that you may have many applications to prepare, and we appreciate the time and effort increased by this requirement. Not every company reads cover letters... but we do! So toss out that boring template where you repeat everything on your resume, and try to share with us who you are, what your career dreams are, and what about Andbox you are most excited to creatively tackle.

Do I need to be a gamer? Not at all. However, the best content is the stuff that gives an insider's perspective into how these esports pros play at their best. So understanding what you are seeing on the screen while editing gameplay footage or sniffing out a story to tell on film is vital. Relatedly, if you are pursuing an editing path and haven’t played around with replay software before, we strongly advise that you gain proficiency before you apply.

When should I apply? Applications are reviewed and accepted on a rolling basis, so you may apply at any time. Be sure to let us know your schedule restrictions so we can do our best to accommodate your availability.
