Amazon Lumberyard is a free AAA game engine deeply integrated with AWS and Twitch. As a Software Development Engineer on our Graphics team, you will be a creative problem solver who enjoys working on graphics features, systems, and tools. We’ll count on you for solid engineering fundamentals and a passion for making great software that enhances the lives of game developers.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • You will design, implement, test, document, and provide operational support for the Graphics team.
  • You will develop and help with tools and core features of the renderer.
  • You will participate in all stages of the software development cycle, including estimation, sprint planning, design and development of significant architectural systems and improvements
  • You will produce comprehensive software documentation
  • You will follow software development and operational best practices.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or equivalent) experience
  • Excellent Computer Science fundamentals in algorithm design, data structures, problem solving, and complexity analysis
  • Be able to develop in C++
  • Strong analytical skills, with excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Good written and oral communication skills, be a fast learner and have the ability to adapt quickly to a fast-paced development environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Good C++ knowledge
  • Game industry experience
  • Understanding of real-time graphics development tools and technologies (e.g. editors, plug-ins, asset pipelines) Unity, Unreal, CryEngine or other 3D game engine development experience
