Job summary

Do you wake up in the morning excited about what cloud computing can do for game developers of all shapes and sizes? Are you excited to communicate how AWS can help digitally transform how games are designed, built, and operated at unprecedented scale? AWS Game Tech marketing is looking for a technically-minded, results-oriented Product Marketing Manager to drive awareness and adoption of AWS solutions among game developers.

The successful candidate will think and act both strategically and tactically, from developing messaging and thought leadership content to executing events and driving outbound communications. They will lean on their extensive tech marketing experience in the business to business (B2B) or developer space to quickly understand complex technology and translate it meaningfully for a game developer audience through a range of deliverables, including videos, blog posts, social posts, webinars, and events content. They will have a track record for successfully driving cross-team collaboration to achieve business goals and activate others to help scale their efforts.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for games and game development. They will hold a high bar for measurement of marketing activities, and will define success metrics, measurement methods and reporting processes for their efforts.

This role must sit in Seattle, WA. Relocation from within the US offered.

Job Responsibilities: As the Product Marketing Manager for Events and customer evidence, you will drive the program management of AWS Game Tech 1st and 3rd party virtual and in-person events. In this role you will develop, market, and execute events targeting game developers, and work to document game developer stories with online and in-person content. You will work closely with stakeholders across AWS to achieve the business outcomes.

Responsibilities

Developing and executing the end-to-end plans for virtual, in person, and large scale 3rd party events such as Game Developers Conference (GDC).

  • Define the goals of each program component, manage the budget and timeline, and oversee a variety of vendors and venue partners to ensure all stakeholders are working together to deliver a high-quality experience.
  • Providing detailed and clear ROI reports on events and activities associated with executed programs.
  • Utilizing exceptional communication skills to collaborate across AWS and marketing on event intake briefs, plans, and post-event debriefs.
  • Work effectively across AWS with groups such as sales, business development, solutions architects, and evangelists to determine the right speakers and content mix to tell the Game Tech story and execute on our virtual and in-person presence.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years of work experience in fields such as technical marketing, technical pre-sales, consulting, training, or product marketing/management
  • A Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, technology, or relevant field of study such as computer science OR 7+ years relevant industry experience in marketing of technical products

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years demonstrated track record in crafting positioning and marketing content
  • Demonstrated ability in launching and growing innovative technology products
  • A career path that demonstrates increasing levels of responsibility and a history of driving and/or being associated with benchmark industry products/services
  • Experience in managing complex and multi-faceted marketing programs with the ability to drive projects through completion
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and creatively while applying sound business judgment and quantitative measurements
  • Passion for games and game development
