Albright College is an NCAA Division III institution, is seeking a part-time head League of Legends coach. The head coach; in collaboration with athletic administration, and support personnel, is responsible for the overall administration of the intercollegiate eSports League of Legends program. The program should reflect high standards of ethical conduct and compliance with NACE and the Middle Atlantic Conference, ECAC and specific sport governing body rules.

The program should reflect high standards of ethical conduct and compliance with NACE and the Middle Atlantic Conference, ECAC and specific sport governing body rules.

The head coach is responsible for creating an environment that is supportive of individual differences and maximizes the educational and athletic development of student-athletes.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Teaching and Training

  • Plan and implement in-season and off-season training for student-athletes and staff.
  • Plan and implement daily practice sessions that are instructive and progressive, utilizing appropriate safety standards.
  • Pursue increased knowledge of your sport and coaching techniques.
  • Instruct student-athletes in the skills and strategies necessary to maximize performance.
  • Take responsibility for overall team discipline, personal appearance, image, conduct and general behavior.

2. General Program Management:

  • Establish positive and effective communication with the athletics director, or his/her designee, and all support staff (Athletic Trainers, secretarial staff, Director of eSports Operations, Sports Information Director).
  • Direct, supervise and evaluate all assistant coaching activities.
  • Assist in the development of the team travel schedule.
  • Assist in the issuance, care, fitting and inventory of equipment and uniforms.
  • Assist in the development of a competitive schedule.
  • Provide general game management.
  • Submit appropriate roster and award recipients as requested.

3. Counseling and Advising Student-Athletes:

  • Encourage and promote academic excellence from student-athletes.
  • Refer student-athletes to appropriate campus resources for academic assistance.
  • Monitor academic feed back from faculty.
  • Support and enforce academic standards for participation.
  • Maintain appropriate coach-athlete relationships.

4. Budget Management:

  • Follow college procedure for financial matters (purchase order, check request, travel request, petty cash vouchers).
  • Submit proposed budget upon request.
  • Monitor sport budget throughout the fiscal year.
  • Submit all revenue or return of cash for deposit immediately upon receipt.
  • Supervise and monitor any fund raising activities.

5. Recruitment of Student Athletes:

  • Work with recruiting coordinator to identify prospective student-athletes.
  • Contact prospective student-athletes.
  • Follow admissions/athletic guidelines for recruitment of prospective students.
  • Attend admission and athletic programs for recruitment.
  • Maximize squad size by meeting recruiting goals.

6. Other Duties:

  • Reports game results as requested by the Sports Information Director
  • Other duties as assigned by the athletic director or indicated by the nature of the position.
