Akshon Esports is a Vancouver based esports company looking for a full-time Staff Writer to join our production and create scripts for our videos.

A deep level of familiarity with Overwatch and high-level of expertise with the game is required. Expertise with the Overwatch as an esport is a plus, but familiarity with other games will not merit significant consideration in this process.

We are also looking for team members who are interested in video scripts covering Overwatch meta discussion, play analysis, and news stories among other topics.

Akshon Esports provides creators with a collaborative environment in which team members are expected to work together constructively. Team members are expected to receive criticism and to contribute to other parts of the company when required. Candidates must be prepared to accomplish their work with minimal oversight as they should be comfortable with writing about Overwatch.

Requirements:

• Deep familiarity with Overwatch at a high level and the associated the esports scene and its communities.
• Ability, producing clean and concise copies of writing.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Experience in professional writing is a plus.
• Relevant college education preferred, but equitable work experience considered.
• Expert communication skills and a fluent grasp of English language writing.
• Willingness to work as part of a team.
• Motivated worker capable of accomplishing tasks with minimal oversight.
• Ability to quickly judge which players, teams, organizations, and community topics are most important as candidates for video topics
• Local candidates will be given priority, but qualified individuals will be able to work remotely.
