Akshon Esports is currently seeking an Editor/Videographer who will specialize in Overwatch and esports related content creator for a full-time position in Vancouver, BC. This candidate will be responsible for assisting in all parts of the content creation process including ideation, scripting, equipment management, shooting, and editing among other tasks.

Job Summary:

The candidate will be responsible for the overall coordination of multimedia editing procedures and workflows. The ideal candidate will be a highly-skilled, creative video editor, with superior techniques and strong storytelling abilities, and a strong fundamental knowledge of competitive gaming, the games involved, and the characters within each game. This position is responsible for editing a wide variety of long and short-form productions and promotional content for use across Akshon Esports and its partners and should have experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic and collaborative environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with creative team for content ideation
  • Produce Shotlist and Blocking documents for Pre-Production planning
  • Prepare, operate, and maintain appropriate camera, lens and accessory packages to meet desired creative result of video project
  • Edit complete, polished video content incorporating footage from multiple cameras, sources and game platforms
  • Editing short-form content, including promotional spots, docu-style features, opens/teases, sizzle reels, highlight videos, micro content and shorter form content
  • Determine necessary lighting and sound equipment for each production, advance notice of necessary rental equipment
  • Responsible for the capture and manipulation of in-game footage for use in montages, documentaries, and highlight videos
  • Communicate issues to operations, engineering, production, and production management and resolves issues as they arise
  • Source music and non-video components for use in video projects
  • Meets attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies

Requirements

  • Applicants MUST submit a Resume, Reel or Portfolio, and two links to recent works
  • Applicants MUST be familiar with Overwatch, the competitive Overwatch esports space and current gaming trends
  • Ability to operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and perform repairs to audio and video equipment
  • Ability to effectively manage time and schedules
  • Ability to work well with a team
  • Eagerness to learn
  • Ability to configure, operate and maintain studio and/or field audio, lighting and associated production equipment
  • Knowledge of professional audio and/or video editing and post-production procedures, techniques, and standards
  • Must be knowledgeable about the latest editing techniques and visual trends
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience with working for an agency, post-production company or broadcast creative team is a plus
  • Intermediate level understanding of the Korean language is a plus
  • College degree preferred, high school diploma or equivalent GED required
  • This is NOT a remote position. You will be working out of our Vancouver office.
