AFK Gaming is looking for a motivated and hard-working writer who is capable of sourcing and writing engaging content about a variety of esports titles. Specifically, we are looking for someone that can write news and content about mobile esport titles that are popular in Asia such as PUBG Mobile, Garena Free Fire, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and League of Legends: Wild Rift. In addition to game specific content, you must be able to follow and cover stories, opinion pieces and interviews about teams, tournaments and influencers that play these games.

The ability to break stories quickly while maintaining quality of the article is a must. You should also be familiar with Facebook and Twitter as you will need to share some of your work there. Having connections in the competitive scene for one or more of these games is a big plus. Knowledge of SEO and Google Analytics is optional.

Prior experience as an esports content writer is less important to us than talent and the ability to meet deadlines, learn and grow.

  • An understanding and knowledge of mobile esports.
  • A writing style that is crisp, concise and easy to understand.
  • The ability to spot grammatical errors and double check facts.
  • The creativity to come up with new story ideas – features, news, opinions, interviews and more.
  • The judgement and experience to sort and select news, keeping in mind our existing readers as well as the target audience.
  • A computer that can run Photoshop, Canva or other image editing tools, and a basic understanding of how to use them.

Good to haves:

  • Knowledge of SEO.
  • Knowledge of G Suite products and Google Analytics.
  • Connections in the mobile esports scene.
