Your Mission is:

The Live Ops Analytics Team is adding a talented Data Analyst to work directly with our security team, studios, and COD Live Services Team. As a member of the Live Ops Team, your mission is to put science into decision making. You’ll work closely with these teams to derive meaningful insights and recommendations from data relating to gameplay design, game security, and player social interactions. Responsibilities include:

  • Aid in adopting a more data-driven approach to our anti-cheat, anti-toxicity, and fraud detection efforts by building comprehensive reporting tools and delivering analyses to support these initiatives.

  • Produce weekly executive level reports on the performance of our anti-cheat and anti-toxicity efforts.

  • Partner with our studios and Live Ops team to produce insights and recommendations relating to our social and community feature performance.

  • Assist with the development of a player facing social scoring system to encourage positive player interactions and a more positive experience for our players.

  • Conduct investigations into suspected cheaters and users committing fraud to help our Central Tech team improve our security efforts.

  • Collaborate with Live Services and Central Tech teams to optimize player engagement by identifying and preventing exploits.

  • Work on a cross functional team to support and drive analytics initiatives to inform current and future design and implementation decisions

  • Deliver presentations on analytic topics and results to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Domain knowledge: As you understand our players’ mindset and threats facing our games/players, you are reliably able to qualitatively deduce and draw quantitative conclusions that directly influence decision making.

Player Skills

  • BA/BS degree required with a technical focus (e.g., computer science, physics, engineering)

  • 4+ years of relevant experience in analytics-related work

  • Strong technical skills with SQL, R/Python for data analysis and visualization tools for reporting – familiarity working in a notebook-based workflow a plus

  • Skilled at being able to derive the narrative from the data and tell convincing stories

  • Experience managing stakeholder asks, expectations, and relationships across a variety of stakeholders

  • Gameplay analysis experiences a plus, with a solid understanding of user engagement and monetization strategies in gaming, entertainment, ecommerce service providers, or mobile apps

  • Industry knowledge/experience with anti-cheat, anti-fraud, or security challenges that gaming companies currently face

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $92,920.00 - $171,814.00 Annual. This base pay range is for the U.S. and is not applicable to locations outside of the U.S. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
