Your Mission

Activision Blizzard has an immediate opening for a Finance Director to lead our Finance organization for the Asia Pacific region. This person will oversee core financial operations (close, forecast, etc.) in Asia Pacific and act as a trusted business partner to the Managing Director of the region. Additionally, this person will leverage financial and strategic analysis to identify and drive key growth opportunities in the region.

Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Drive growth within APAC across existing lines of business in partnership with the Managing Director and his leadership team
  • Lead the APAC finance organization and continue to develop talent within the organization (includes management of teams in Korea, Japan, and Australia)
  • Act as trusted business partner to the Asia Pacific leadership team, including the Managing Director of APAC as well as each respective sub-region Managing Director
  • Lead strategic and financial assessments of commercial initiatives, including identifying new potential growth opportunities across the region
  • Lead the annual operating plan process for APAC, including interfacing with HQ finance teams, partnership with APAC leadership to outline the plan, and supporting alignment on the APAC strategy with central HQ leadership
  • Partner with analytics and Finance to deliver insights and support business decision-making related to the regions’ near- and long-term goals
  • Drive profitability and manage the full P&L for the APAC region, including ROI analysis, driving operational efficiency, resource benchmarking, and budget setting
  • Partner with analytic and commercial teams to establish reporting capabilities across the Activision Blizzard portfolio of titles
  • Lead various FP&A activities for APAC, including pacing, monthly financial and operational reports, quarter close, quarterly forecasting, annual operating planning process, headcount tracking, etc
  • Analyze current and past trends in key performance indicators including all areas of revenue, expenses, and capital expenditures and analyze causes of unexpected variance

Player Profile

Minimum Requirements:

  • Demonstrated passion for games and entertainment
  • 10+ years’ experience including consulting, banking, private equity, product management, or finance and strategy roles within games, technology, media or entertainment
  • Experience managing broad teams of diverse backgrounds as well as geographically dispersed teams
  • Collaborative problem solver who thrives in a high performing team
  • Team player and influencer who is excited to pitch in and help
  • Ability to lead and deliver on strategic ad hoc analyses
  • Analytical bias and ability to break complicated problems down into bite-size pieces and translate to bottom-line operating income impact
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interface with a diverse set of stakeholders all over the world (including business/commercial operations, finance, analytics, and development & technology leaders)
  • Structured and organized thinker; ability to visualize analysis in a clear and consumable fashion for executive management
  • Top academic performance in an analytical discipline; MBA a plus
  • Integrity, excellent judgment, and discretion

Extra Points:

  • Experience in mobile video games, gaming, software, technology, or entertainment industries, and/or ecommerce
  • Experience building and providing input to detailed platform product roadmaps, including prioritizing major features
  • Experience with Hyperion and Essbase
