Activision is looking for a passionate and experienced digital marketer to lead the digital marketing team for Call of Duty.

This is an incredible opportunity for a seasoned digital marketer. Call of Duty has been the bestselling franchise of the past 10 years and continues to innovate and excite consumers and will for the foreseeable future. Additionally, with the launch of Call of Duty: Warzone, over 65 million people have jumped in to our new free to play battle royale Call of Duty game.

The Director of Digital Marketing, Call of Duty will lead a team responsible for managing digital marketing across the brand, including social, digital, web, content, and strategy.

The ideal candidate will be a digital leader with deep experience and a clear track record of developing disruptive and innovative campaigns that push the boundaries of new platforms, and who can develop and manage an “always on” playbook to drive engagement with our massive player base. They will partner closely with other marketing, communications, and product teams to develop and execute programs that deepen the relationship with players and attract new fans to the franchise.

The position requires experience leading a dynamic team and managing external agencies, production teams, and partner studios through strategy, design, and execution. In addition to leading overall digital strategy and execution for Call of Duty, this person will also help oversee our owned digital and social channels, one-to-one social marketing strategies, digital marketing initiatives, and content programs. The person in this role will have a thought leadership position inside the company as it relates to our passionate fan base and approach to social engagement.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the digital marketing strategy for Call of Duty across campaigns and key beats, driving clear decision-making and key stakeholder alignment with business teams, and senior management.
  • Drive social media strategy, content development, and execution for an “always on” high engaged consumer base across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat, and emerging and partner platforms
  • Lead external agency partners and internal partners on resourcing, strategy, development, execution, and optimization, partnering with other marketing leaders along the way
  • Work with cross functional leaders on the strategy, development and launch of marketing campaigns for future Call of Duty titles
  • Manage a team of highly skilled digital marketers, providing leadership, development, and support to help the team grow into future leaders.
  • Oversee social analytics, managing communicating performance, sentiment, trends, and community concerns back to the broader team and leadership
  • Lead external agency partners and internal partners on resourcing, strategy, development, execution, and optimization, partnering with other marketing leaders along the way
  • Partner with the international digital marketing teams to develop a global strategic approach leading to locally relevant social content and digital plans.
  • Manage and build key relationships across internal partners, including media, creative services, studio, product, public relations, consumer marketing, and other strategic partnerships.
  • Represent the voice of our players in internal conversations.

Player Profile

  • 10+ years experience in social media and digital marketing—in-house brand experience preferred. Ideally, direct experience working in gaming, or an industry with a highly engaged audience.
  • Experience creating and supporting integrated digital marketing, social media campaigns, and engagement events as well as developing full cycle reveal-to-launch and post-launch strategies.
  • Appetite for all things digital and social—developing innovative campaigns leveraging the newest tech across platforms—and desire to identify opportunities for strategic brand involvement.
  • Understanding of brand strategy and ability to write strategic marketing briefs and persuasive POVs to develop engaging campaigns.
  • Detail oriented. This position requires someone who can build plans, presentations, and keep the team moving cohesively in the right direction.
  • Passion for gaming is a must. This person will quickly need to understand our community including the influencers, streamers, and content creators in our ecosystem.
  • Experience leading a team and working with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of management, as well as third party agencies and partners.
  • A proactive mindset, strong work ethic, and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional and franchise team leads.
