Your Mission

As the Chief of Staff to the Chief Revenue Officer you will serve as a strategic advisor and strategic initiative lead, executing cross functional and cross region initiatives and activities supporting the CRO’s strategy and vision. The successful candidate brings a passion for the entertainment and gaming industry and a strong, informed view on user acquisition, digital sales and gaming revenue opportunities. This position maximizes the effectiveness of the CRO so that he can focus his time and energy on the highest value activities. The Chief of Staff interfaces closely with executives, senior leaders, and stakeholders throughout the organization and builds / drives forward Blizzard’s revenue strategy.

Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

Strategic Initiatives:

  • Establishes an annual global strategic planning process to identify, evaluate, and prioritize strategic initiatives, ensuring they are tightly linked to Activision Blizzard’s overall revenue strategy and drive business value
  • Leads key cross region initiatives
  • Successfully leads and executes key initiatives end-to-end including discovery, delivery, and adoption
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with executives, senior leaders, and stakeholders to achieve project objectives and deliverables
  • Creates and manages the processes and tools by which the health and performance of the portfolio of strategic initiatives are tracked, reported, and communicated to the broader organization

Maximizing Effectiveness:

  • Serves as a thought partner to provide an objective, independent perspective on ideas and issues
  • Establishes efficient and powerful status reporting and score-carding to report on the health and performance of key initiatives and activities
  • Drafts and distributes presentations, documents, and communications; facilitates syncs and manages stakeholders for all key initiatives
  • Partners with Human Resources to address staffing needs planning
  • Helps identify items that can be delegated to others to optimize the CROs time allocation to high-value activities
  • Attends meetings, provides direction, and addresses inquiries or issues on behalf of the CRO as his proxy
  • Identifies, develops, and implements continuous process improvements to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the CRO and the organization
  • Manages the responsibilities and day-to-day activities of the CRO’s Executive Assistant

Financial and Budgeting Processes

  • Partners with Finance to establish and improve financial processes, including planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis

Senior Leadership Decision-making and Meetings

  • Plans and develops agendas for key meetings
  • Documents and communicates decisions and action items from meetings
  • Ensures follow-up and closure of action items
  • Shares information and learnings across teams

Player Profile

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience developing strategy and plans for digital revenue growth
  • Some travel will be required: Ability to travel to support the CRO, as needed potentially – Domestic: Irvine (1-2 days/ week), International: Asia, China and Europe (1 week/ 6 weeks)
  • Proven experience leading large-scale, cross-organizational, complex programs or projects
  • Proven successes working with executive clients and deftly guiding complex decisions
  • Demonstrated ability to function well in a matrixed organization and thrive in a dynamic industry, business and technical environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders throughout the organization
  • Ability to lead and influence without explicit authority
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills
  • Comfortable presenting and communicating to large groups and across all levels of the organization in an effective, situationally appropriate, clear, and high-quality manner
  • Ability to work independently and deliver results with little supervision
  • Detail- and results-oriented; driven and self-motivated with strong initiative
  • Excellent organization and time management skills; ability to prioritize tasks across multiple projects
  • Problem solver, analytical and organized thinker
  • Experience in training, mentoring, and managing others
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related discipline or prior work experience in one or more of these disciplines
