Your Mission

The Business Lead is tasked with optimizing the Chief Executive Officers time, shaping his agenda and carrying it out throughout the company. This role will work closely with the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO), the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Chief People Officer (CPO), and the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Activision Blizzard to ensure effective communication and organization. This role is intended to be a development role for future general management opportunities within the company.

Your Role

The ideal candidate is an accomplished and highly resourceful consultant or executive in the media/technology industry with an established track record of success at managing complex relationships throughout a global organization and having real operational impact. S/he demonstrates a combination of tenacity and flexibility, as well as a willingness to work behind-the-scenes to get things done. As the CEOs trusted advisor, excellent judgement, strong relationship and emotional intelligence, self-motivation, and superior analytical skills are a must.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of seven years of professional experience in operational and support roles with the proven ability to lead and manage teams, interact with senior leaders across the global organization. This position requires high energy, a strong work ethic, outstanding communications and interpersonal skills and a deep knowledge of business. This role will manage two Associate Business Leads and a three-person administrative staff for the Office of the CEO

  • Set and manage the CEOs agenda and priorities with each executive and external stakeholders as appropriate
  • Ensure the CEOs leadership team and their staff correctly interpret, understand and carry out the CEOs direction and strategic vision
  • Assist the CPO in building out a strong and effective leadership team to enable the successful implementation of the CEOs vision and strategy
  • Act as a proxy and information funnel, filter and facilitator for the CEO, dealing with as many issues as possible before they reach the CEOs desk
  • Work closely with senior executives throughout the company to identify and mobilize resources to support new businesses and strategic opportunities
  • Lead special projects initiated by the CEO
  • Coordinate projects and commitments directly involving the CEO
  • Ensure alignment among often disparate internal and external stakeholders; and when such alignment is absent, recommend mitigating approaches to the CEO
  • Draft communications on behalf of the CEO
  • Proactively identify and raise issues that could impact the CEOs agenda
  • Support the executive teams communication with the CEO and raise critical issues that require CEOs attention
  • Manage administrative staff including all processes related to the CEOs office
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements To Be Qualified

  • Excellent judgement, obsessive attention to detail, great multi-tasker, and highly motivated to get things done
  • Highly collaborative working style; can juggle competing priorities among a high performing executive team
  • Ability to adapt quickly, build relationships, engage and motivate people
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with strong board-room presence
  • Change agent and change management expertise experience in a growth company
  • Established reputation as a business partner and advisor, building relationships successfully across the company
  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written. Comfortable and effective in making presentations at the board room-level and across the investment community
  • Undergraduate degree from a top tier institution is required. MBA or JD preferred
