Activision Blizzard is on the quest for a hardworking Senior Media Workflow Engineer to join our Global Broadcast – Asset Management team! This role drives workflow development for our core platform.

Coordinating, designing, and implementing workflow solutions that empower our users and increase efficiency across our environment.

Job Description:

You will relish in the details and have an affinity for Activision Blizzard games and Esports. Understand the fast paced nature of live broadcast environments and appreciate learning new tools and technical concepts. Enjoy workflow development, media engineering, and understand the importance of strong orchestration in a platform. Consistently evaluate and recognize when something can be improved upon and feel fulfilled when implementing a better process. You will take charge in the design and implementation of multi-system workflows across our asset management infrastructure. Help identify user needs and bottlenecks quickly, and design/execute solutions to address them. You are a subject matter expert in media engineering and workflow development, that will help us provide the most secure, functional, and efficient platform ever!

Responsibilities:

  • Design, coordinate, and implement broadcast workflow solutions in a multi-system broadcast Environment.
  • Work tightly with our Dev and Dev Ops teams to develop custom system workflows within our Asset Management infrastructure.
  • Lead large research and development initiatives for Asset Management to continue to evolve our platform and feature offerings.
  • Apply your strong knowledge of video/digital media to implement workflow solutions
  • Document your workflow and solution strategies through detailed wiring/flow diagrams and build upon our engineering best practices.
  • Maintain our transcode infrastructure for broadcast and asset management at ABE

Required:

  • 4+ Years of experience in the video media industry: broadcast, esports, film or related industry
  • Solid knowledge of file formats/codecs and industry standard transcode infrastructure: Telestream, AWS Elemental/MediaConnect/MediaLive, FFMPEG, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of media/digital asset management systems
  • Experience with workflow development from a coding perspective. Partnering with Dev and Dev Ops teams to execute.

Plusses:

  • Coding experience in any language: Python/Groovy, Spring Expression Language, React, and Javascript
  • Experience in multi-system workflow development
  • Familiar with micro-service architecture
  • AWS, GCP, and Hybrid (on-prem/cloud) environment experience
  • Understanding of post production and broadcast production pipelines for content creation and distribution.
