Your Mission

As the Global Head of Communications for Activision Blizzard Media (ABM), you will oversee internal communications, external communications, and PR for a rapidly growing advertising business.

You will be responsible for the development and implementation of a strategic, innovative internal and external communications plan and related programs in support of the vision and key strategic initiatives for the advertising business.

You will actively drive employee engagement, culture, brand building, and change management efforts through institution-wide communications in coordination with our head of Human Resources.

  • Qualified candidates must be able to simultaneously concept, manage, execute, and coordinate a number of complex external and internal communications projects within tight timelines and budget parameters.
  • Network with communication and marketing functions across Activision Blizzard to yield a comprehensive view of messages coming from the broader organization.
  • Provide members of the Executive Leadership Team with guidance and support for issues surrounding media, corporate and crisis communications, as well as internal communications.
  • Leverage existing media relationships and cultivate new contacts within the advertising and gaming industry.
  • Work in partnership with the Creative Director to establish and own the tone and voice of the ABM brand.
  • Create press releases, byline articles, and press packages.
  • Develop a media relations strategy, seeking high-level placements in print, broadcast and digital media.
  • Drive an increase in both the volume and quality of Activision Blizzard Media’s media coverage, including maximizing our presence at high-profile industry events like Cannes, CES, SXSW as well as proprietary experiential initiatives.
  • Oversee all social platforms. Design and analyze performances of social/ad Campaigns.
  • Engage, inspire and inform ABM employees through regular, targeted and highly effective internal communications.
  • Generate excitement, enthusiasm and commitment to the organization’s vision, strategies, desired culture, and behaviors.
  • Keep a finger on the pulse of the industry and staying ahead of advertising, media & gaming trends will be a critical component of this position.

Player Profile

As an expert in communications in the gaming and technology world, you have keen insight on the ebbs and flows of the gaming and advertising industries. You know how to get a new and developing brand noticed in the advertising world, and weave compelling stories to build the brand.

You have a proven track record of delivering internal communications outputs within a complex, fast-paced environment. You have global experience, listed environment, along with the ability to influence those around you. You have a knack for navigating around complex and occasionally siloed business units to build relationships and lines of communication. You will take pride in the consistent delivery of high quality communications within tight, often immovable timeframes and within rapidly changing landscapes.

  • Strong relationships with business and industry (gaming, advertising, technology) media outlets and personnel.
  • You have extensive experience leading internal communications channels in a fast-growing and complex business.
  • Excellent storytelling, copywriting and editing skills.
  • Experience coordinating with press and writing press releases, conducting interviews, and overseeing corporate speakers.
  • Fluent and up-to-date with the latest digital technology and social media trends.
  • Proven hands-on experience in Social Media management and Public Relations.
  • Profound attention to detail and willingness to own and polish projects end to end; crafting truly exceptional deliverables.
  • Excellent collaboration and strong interpersonal skills; able to work with a variety of different roles, from data scientists to account managers.
  • A strong understanding of the advertising (marketers, media planning/ selling & creative) and gaming (mobile, console, PC) eco-systems or passion to learn more about these arenas is required.
  • Flexibility to travel as needed.
