Your Mission

The Enterprise Systems Engineer works with the systems and network staff involved in the implementation, migration and maintenance of systems solutions across the global enterprise. He / she require previous experience designing, implementing and supporting mid-to-large systems solutions. He /she will routinely participate as a member in local / global projects, and assist and contribute to establishment of policies, procedures and standards across the IT organization. The position will require input to improve the team's overall management of systems globally. This position requires participation and contribution to various global initiatives such as automation, virtualization, file services, Linux/Windows systems. This position is an architecture and 3rd tier support engineer and will participate in 24 X 7 on-call support rotation.

Player Profile

  • 2+ years exp. as a Systems Engineer with a demonstrated ability to play a significant role and successfully manage and complete complex projects
  • BS Degree in a technology related field or related work experience
  • Experience with Tier 3 escalations for virtualization, Linux/Unix/Windows systems, and Files services.
  • Exemplary troubleshooting skills of complex mission critical systems
  • Ensure the accurate and timely communication, preparation, processing, distribution and retention of all necessary reports, records and documentation.
  • Ability to be an effective team leader for technical projects
  • Travel to other divisions as needed for support, system moves and installation
  • Ability to interface effectively and decisively with all levels of management, departments, Global Security, and outside vendors

Some Tips To Remember

The Enterprise Systems Engineer will be responsible for participating in a broad range of activities, including but not limited to the following below.

Virtualization

  • Implementation, management and maintenance of various, VMware vSphere/vRealize Products
  • Enterprise Storage Management, File and block, deployment, and maintenance
  • Server deployment and configuration
  • Implement and support private cloud infrastructure
  • Support and management of clustered hypervisors including the infrastructure and hardware
  • Performance troubleshooting
  • Disaster recovery / Patching / business continuance

Windows

  • Implementation, manage, and maintenance of various versions of Windows systems
  • Build and configure server environments using standard configurations and automation tools where possible.
  • Setup, configure, and support file and block level storage
  • Performance troubleshooting
  • Disaster recovery / Patching / business continuance

File Services

  • Enterprise class NAS installation/administration/maintenance with current technologies and vendors
  • Replication, backup and configuration for file storage systems
  • Setup, configure, and support NFS, ISCSI, and CIFS shares

Hardware Support

  • Build servers and configure for high availability / redundancy
  • Troubleshoot existing systems and migrate / upgrade when necessary
  • Technical knowledge of physical server components / hardware
  • Enterprise Storage hardware

Global Support

  • Globally assist all divisions with implementation, migration, and design / re-design of new and existing technology solutions.
  • Adhere to global standards in IT processes (account management, permissions, naming convention, etc.)
  • Utilize Centralized Helpdesk system for support requests
  • Create and maintain detailed IT documentation for applications / solutions
  • Assist to define global standards, policies and procedures
  • Project management and assignments as required
  • On call 24 / 7 as needed

Backups

  • Experience with building enterprise backup solutions
  • Assist in defining disaster recovery / business continuance strategies in an enterprise environment

Requirements

  • Ability to lead projects to completion with proper documentation and knowledge transfer
  • Experience working in a fast pace enterprise level environment
  • Being able to work within standard SLA’s and change management procedures
  • Experience in level 3 support, configuration, and deployment with VMware at both the Hypervisor and VM level.
  • Experience in level 3 support, configuration, and deployment of Windows systems
  • Experience in level 3 support, configuration, and deployment of different storage systems
  • Experience in level 3 support, configuration, and deployment of backup systems
