About Our Internships
2K’s summer internships are paid internship opportunities, 10 weeks long, focused on both functional and professional growth. Internships include weekly learning sessions with senior leadership, networking opportunities, and fun and engaging projects that have real-world impact.
2K’s summer internship program runs June through August at our 2K Publishing HQ in Novato, California. The internship program is open to all U.S residents who are students at the time of internship. The pace is fast, the atmosphere is fun, and we’ll push and challenge you to learn and grow beyond anything you’d expect. It’s truly a unique and rewarding experience.
What We Need
Making a video game is hard and Producers are the coxswains that help keep teams rowing in the same direction. We help the people who make great games stay focused on making games – we tank everything else.
As an intern working with the Production team you will get the opportunity to learn and practice the core skills and responsibilities of a full-time Producer. Taking notes, coordinating feedback, tracking bugs, and evaluating work-in-progress builds are just a small sample of the types of things Producers do every day. Under the mentorship of a full-time Producer, we’ll work with you to help you build and level-up your production skillset!
What You Will Do
Learn and practice the various job responsibilities of a Producer
Help us track in-progress tasks, bugs, documentation, and milestones
Play in-progress builds and help us figure out what’s working and what’s not
Analyze/report issues and keep managers informed on the status of assigned tasks and escalate problems as needed
We know issues come up. The sooner we identify them, the sooner we spot them the sooner we can fix them
Keep up-to-date on trends in the game industry and entertainment industry
What Will Make You a Great Fit
An in-progress college degree or equivalent work experience
A passion for playing and analyzing PC/Console games
A love of enabling other people to do their best work
Ability to work independently, managing multiple priorities and tight timelines
Experience working with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Project preferred, Google Suite, or iWork
