The NBA 2K Marketing Team is comprised of experienced and talented marketing professionals and an exceptional communications team working together and across the company to create memorable and innovative campaigns for NBA 2K’s latest offering.

What We Need

The Director, Global Brand Marketing is responsible for developing the global brand strategy and story, as well as partnering with the marketing, growth and development teams on multi-year product roadmaps, guiding a global cross-functional organization, and leading brand & consumer communication inclusive of The role will represent the voice of the player and drive foundational brand strategy and insight work to guide global and go to market strategies.

This position requires a veteran, but not a traditional storyteller, that is not only strong on brand strategy and communications, but also fully understands and can apply customer journey, ROI and the importance of executing tightly integrated brand marketing campaigns that are insight driven and audience relevant.

This position will create an overarching thought-leadership strategy for our Brand and Marketing and execute on that strategy utilizing integrated marketing communications tactics via owned, earned and paid channels, developing necessary content.

Brand architecture, brand framework, brand positioning and NBA 2K story will be defined and propagated through annual marketing campaigns, branded content and advertising.

Drive growth by developing and executing multi-touchpoint campaigns that tell the story of our gamers and the role we play in basketball culture.

This role will also lead the Global briefing process with external agency partners and internal creative teams and ensure they are aligned on a year-long Consumer Journey and NBA 2K’s priority brand and product narratives.

Implement scalable programs and best practices across diverse teams to enhance and improve our collaboration and results,

What You Will Do

  • Reporting to the Senior Director, Global Marketing, NBA 2K, you will lead brand strategy and marketing for the NBA 2K franchise identifying insights and market opportunity.
  • Partner and/or lead positioning, consumer target and product features to drive brand growth, content development and go-to-market strategies that deliver to the business targets.
  • Demonstrate a passion for creativity, innovation and thinking outside the box. We are not a TV led company, so the ability to build content based on the audience insights, territory needs and business goals is key to being successful.
  • At the same time this passionate brand marketer should clearly articulate how phenomenal brands breakthrough and resonate with consumers and build an understanding of the importance and value of brand marketing.
  • Build, define and evangelize the Brand Strategy and Marketing campaign for the NBA 2K franchise.
  • Calm the chaos and create clear processes, communication cadences, feedback loops and optimisation as a natural way of doing business.
  • Work with go to market teams to ensure campaign is on brand and on strategy and that the local nuances or needs are incorporated into global process to ensure growth outside the US.
  • Provide product/ competitive expertise for Development, Marketing and Publishing teams.
  • Analyze and monitor key metrics and user feedback on a real-time basis to determine user trends and behavior turning into tangible and actionable insights that can be used to optimize inform strategies for brand performance and activation.
  • Incorporate best practices to other teams to communicate key takeaways to management.
  • Deliver a consistent voice of the player in concept to develop through to final production and live service execution.
  • Create an environment that is free from failure to test new ways to reach, engage, and surround players and fans.
  • Regularly partner, present and report to studio leadership and stakeholders on marketing strategies, plans, and findings.

Work with the studio game teams and develops strategic plan around user engagement and acquisition, and helps execute against the plan and tactics.

  • Analysis & Insight – This role will have a strong reliance on data analysis and understanding of marketing KPIs. ROI and KPIs will be closely monitored throughout the campaign and results will be produced in a timely manner and reported to the leadership team.
  • Managing People – Deliver strong direction and leadership to a diverse team of direct reports. Ability to build trust and credibility within a matrixed team including with stakeholders from product development, commercial, and other internal and external partners.

  • Topical Knowledge – Have a passion for basketball and video gaming. Knowing the NBA and its athletes will be key to developing Brand strategy and growth across social channels while creating content relevant to our community.
