Splitgate is a free to play, fast-paced sci-fi multiplayer shooter that combines the strategic elements of portals with the explosive gameplay of a first person shooter. We quickly became a top trending game on PlayStation, XBOX, and Steam. In our first 6 days, we passed 1M downloads, and hit 2M within the first two weeks. We’re now at 15M+ downloads and growing. What We're Looking For:

We are looking for a lead creative writer to join the Splitgate team. As the world-building writer, you thrive in a fast paced environment where your passion and creative energy will help craft a deep and engaging game universe.

  • A passionate leader: You love to take on difficult, seemingly impossible problems and dig in to find creative ways to solve them
  • A hard worker: You love to put in the extra effort, because you enjoy your work and know the impact of finishing the tasks at hand
  • Passion for gaming: You can recognize what separates exceptional games from the average ones. You understand the mindset of gamers which enables you to create and implement features that will further benefit the game

Responsibilities:

  • Work with designers and artists to create a believable universe
  • Establish the rules and boundaries in the game universe and how everything exists within it
  • Craft histories, politics, religions, science, and cultures that exist in Splitgate's universe
  • Define overall tone and language of each culture, faction, and/or character
  • Collaborate with artists to define a unified language to support the visual language
  • Understand the gameplay elements and assess how they could affect the development of the universe
  • Author in-game lore, VO, and bark scripts

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in scriptwriting or fiction writing preferred
  • 3+ years of writing for games required
  • 1 - 2 shipped games as a writer/designer is preferred
  • Effective verbal (in addition to writing) communication required
  • Professional writing samples are required for consideration
